|Apple's Chapel has been my home church all my life except for about 10 years while living in other locations. I am a retired nurse and serve as historian of Apple's Chapel. Welcome one and all to join us for worship.|
I started adding memorials from a listing of the cemetery compiled by Norma Gordon. This list is the results of a survey of the cemetery and includes all readable headstones prior to 1982. Any errors will be corrected upon request.
I have reviewed records of funerals in church office from 1987 to current. Also I have been through the cemetery making pictures of head/foot stones. Many markers are unreadable or missing.

|William Perdue||T.M. Gerringer and Laura Annie Andrews|
Vannie Gerringer Brown was my grandmother, and Find a Grave has accepted my link of her to Thomas Mesheck Gerringer and Laura Annie Andrews as her parents.
In addition to Vannie, Caesar, John Lofton, and the infant boy, TMG and LAA had two other sons:
1. Charles Woodrow Gerringer (d. 1984): buried at Apple's Chapel with Caesar, his wife Lillian Brooks, and his sister in law Mabel Brooks.
2. John Buck Gerringer (6/26/1922 - 11/2010): buried at Shallow Ford church in Alamance County with his wife, May Foy Isley.

May I ask why you don't put the obit on your memorial pages. As a family researcher I have found the information found in these obit very helpful in knowing who the parents, siblings, children and grandchildren might be. It certainly is a very useful tool when the we are looking at post 1940 information. Thanks so much, Linda
There is a Find A Grave Member-Anonymous (#46605034)-trying to send a wrong correction to my memorial for Grover C. Apple and your memorial for his mother, Isabell Holt. I have tried to send you the correct information but her correction request is blocking mine.
I have sent you the correct information under the other Suggest a Correction Link.
This Find A Grave member has her messages disabled and does not provide an email. She also did not provide an email when she sent the requests to me, so I have no way to inform her of her mistakes with proof.
I have a copy of Isabell's obit that appeared in the Greensboro paper and it clearly states that her half siblings are all children of John William Apple. Obviously her step father fathered her child, Grover C. Apple. Not something I would voluntary put out there, but she left no other recourse.
Thank you for all that you do on here and at Apple's Chapel. I appreciate every help with my Apple family.

Peggy: Yes, I remember Claude. I didn't know him well but my brother Dwight did because he used to go out to Chigger Ridge a bit. That was a few years ago!
|Julie Hampton||Lois Quesinberry|
Thank you for the information!
She is buried in the section of Woodlawn Cemetery that was originally a private cemetery known as Meeks Cemetery or Meeks Family Cemetery, which is now maintained by Woodlawn Cemetery. When I took photos of all the marked graves at both cemeteries in, I think, 2010, Meeks was still known as Meeks. Perhaps the Findagrave administrator for this area will merge the 2 cemeteries.
