|Lydia Jetson||Cora E Gore Newton|
Would you be able to check the Griffin Cemetery in Brunswick, NC for record of Cora E Gore Newton, daughter of Beauregard G. Gore 1861-1942) and Frances Fannie Simmons Gore (1859-1938).
Cora Gore married a David Beauregard Newton (1862-1933) who is said to be buried there, also.This is stated on their death certificates.
I would appreciate your help!
|Carol Renfro||Columbus Dunlap|
Hi! I just noticed that I said "married" instead of "buried" in Mill Pond cemetery.
|Carol Renfro||Columbus Dunlap|
Thanks for all your work on Find-a-Grave!
I have been researching the life and family of Columbus Dunlap (memorial #62243856) and am convinced that Columbus was not married at Mill Pond. His first wife Rachel was buried there, but after her death Columbus married Mary McCarson in 1889. They had several children together. In 1900 the children and Mary are in the census in Henderson County, but the census taker failed to write the name of Columbus. They moved to Greenville County sometime before 1905, when their son Arthur was born there. Their daughter Edith was born in 1900 and died in 1902 and two other infants were born and died in that period, between 1900 and 1910. All four of these are buried at Mills Mill cemetery in Greenville: Columbus, Edith and two infants. The 1910 census shows Mary having borne eight children, five of whom were living at that time.
Someone has accidentally put duplicate memorials for all of the Mills Mill cemetery into Welcome Cemetery, so that's confusing, but various records support that Columbus is buried in Greenville. Mary McCarson Dunlap, his second wife, is buried at Graceland.

Can you tell me how to locate Russ Graveyard? Hezekiah Milliken was my husband's great great grandfather. Hubby's name is James Leonard. He was born on Copas Rd in Shallotte. We are living in Ocean Isle Beach.

Thank you for your excellent photograph of the memorial for Agnes Sellers Slick. Unique memorial-someone was skilled in metal work. She died of small pox shortly after being married to Lt. Josiah Slick in 1865.
