|Bio and Links|
|I have over 25 years doing research on Anglin genealogy. I also have done some researched on the Cook, Martin, & Bennett families. I first started in 1980s copying old family pictures. Some were on tin. I also copied a picture of my Great Grandfather Allen S. Anglin and part of his family that was taken in 1898. One can see this picture on the Anglin DNA website in Group # 4.|
I grew up in Forsyth County Georgia and lived there until late 1998. I now live in Banks County Georgia near Jackson County line.
I spent many hours and years at Georgia State Archives when it was in downtown Atlanta, GA. I also visited many court houses, libraries and did many hours of research online. I also wrote a book for all my cousins which I titled James Anglin from Ireland to Georgia. I also included many copies from as far back as 1773.
At Present time I am working with the new owners of the old Mathis Airport property and the Forsyth County Historical Society on restoring the Anglin Family Cemetery. Sometime in late July 2013 to Aug. 1, 2013 Airport owner dug up and hid all tombstones that had any markings on them and lied in federal court stating that NO cemeteries were on property. My Wife and I went with the Forsyth County Sheriff Dept. in middle of August 2013 to recover all the tombstones. My wife Gwinetta Anglin is the person who testified to the federal judge in Atlanta, Georgia that there is an Anglin Cemetery on this site. Once the property is developed for housing we plan on having the tombstones placed back even though they are broken up from the weight of Air planes landing on the tombstones from 2004 to Aug. 2013.
The Airport is no longer in service. There is now a metal fence around the cemetery.
