RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 94209143
This Emma (Ema) Corral is not my family member. I don't know the correct spelling of her first name, but I think you did the right thing in listing both versions. I came across this memorial when I was doing reseach at on a family member with the same maiden name and same date of birth. My family member may still be alive, and she spelled Emma with two "m's." Thank you for responding so quickly to my previous message.

Find A Grave Memorial# 94209143

The name on the tombstone and on the memorial do not match.

The tombstone reads "Ema Corral," with one "m".

The memorial reads "Emma Corral," with two "m's".

RE: help with cemetery
I'm in Tucson, Az. I'm about I hour away. Let me know when you will be in Nogales. I would not be able to travel to Nogales until after Jan. 2015. Grace Murphy

Re: Nogales, AZ---thank you for response. The cousin site in question was transferred to his sister (my other cousin). His sister has joined Find a Grave and she is helping me. Grace M

Oops #48232846 this is my gravesite ID.

Please transfer control for Augustin Donnadieu, DOD 1940.

Jan, I found my cousin's headstone that you added. I would like to combine this with my family and link it to his parents. Would you let me take over # 116198380? Thanks Grace Donnadieu Murphy

Thank You

You have been a tremendous help. We knew that he was buried in Nogales, but nobody who is living has ever been there - yet. My Grandmother and Father used to talk about my Grandfather traveling down there in 1946 or 1947 to visit the grave. He would have been 66 or 67, and traveled from San Francisco by bus. Busses weren't air-conditioned in those days, and he fell ill on the return trip and wound up in a hospital somewhere east of Los Angeles. My Dad had returned from WWII in Japan and had to borrow a car from my Grandmother's brother to go retrieve him. Poor Grandpa - it was a 7th Day Adventist hospital and he didn't care for the vegetarian food. Plus, the carillon played "Nearer my God to Thee" every hour on the hour. Given the nature of the trip, he didn't care for that at all.

Is a lot of work to get the cemetery records straightened out being done by volunteers? That says a lot about the residents of Nogales.

One of my sisters has been tracing that part of our geneology. She and her husband will visit the island off the coast of Croatia where my Grandfather was born, prior to them immigrating and coming ashore in San Francisco in 1890. Having your listing come up at this time adds another piece to the puzzle.

Thank you.

Peter Catanich

You created an entry for my Great-Grandfather, Peter Catanich. Did you obtain his name from cemetery records, or did you pull the information off of a headstone? If the headstone is still there, would it be possible for you to photograph it?

We know it was still there a year or so after WWII ended because my Grandfather made a trip from San Francisco to check on it.

Thank you in advance.

RE: hey = jan back
Hi Jan,
Thanks for the info and suggestions for Richard Wooten. Also nice to know that your brother was a jarhead, although I am sorry to hear about his passing. I do not recall ever meeting a Robert Collins, but it sure is possible that our paths crossed sometime during the late '60s. The only Collins I remember knowing was William Michael Collins who was a member of my recruit platoon from Arizona. He was born in Indiana and grew up in (and died in) Arizona. As far as I know he didn't have a Utah connection. The next time you visit your brother's grave please give him a hearty "Semper Fi" from me. Be well,

Richard Hickman Wootan
Hi jan,
I am writing to ask about Richard Hickman Wootan who is the father of Catherine Wootan "Nana" Kuhn, Find A Grave Memorial #91882086 (your creation and photo). According to his death certificate, Richard died in Nogales on 18 May 1950 and was buried in the Patagonia Cemetery, however there doesn't seem to be a memorial created for him on Find A Grave. (Catherine provided info on his death certificate.) I am wondering if perhaps you noticed his grave when you were in the Patagonia Cemetery. Thanks for any help or advice.
