2017 season is going slow. Just got back from NC where I had a really hard time finding headstones in the big cemeteries. I got a few of my JORDANs but wanted to find more. May have to go back next year. Here in Ohio it's too hot to grave but in the fall plan on doing more in Westville.|

|B. D. Rutherford||RE: Sparks Family Cemetery|
I am not related. I work on cemeteries in Harlan and Bell Counties and a few others. I recently added a memorial to the Sparks Family Cemetery and would like to put it on my list to visit and do a complete inventory with photos. I visit twice a year. It will not be this year but most likely next Spring. Thank you for responding. A GPS would help if your cousin has one.
Just found your write up on Amos McNew. His birth date and death date would make him 9 or 10, not 5 as you suggest. Also, if someone is buried in a crypt, is it a false crypt? Not sure about the terminology.

|Sharon Ingram||Gulielmus Smith|
I really appreciate all your work here!! Thank you! I, too, am a descendant of Gulielmus through Robert's daughter Nancy. I have the same question about Gulielmus' wife's name and another. Nancy married Thomas Hope and had a daughter, Tabitha Emily. Emily's name shows on the 1850 census, but her father died in 1844. Therefore, Nancy is the head of the house on the 1850 census. I haven't been able to find PROOF that Emily is Nancy AND Thomas' daughter.
Has anyone else following this info found it? I know Gulielmus Smith is a Revolutionary Patriot. But without THAT proof, I cannot apply. Anyone??

Hi Helen -
You added a fabulous picture of Clardy Knowles in 2005 to his Memorial that you originally prepared. Clardy is the son of my husband's gg-grandmother, Sarah Catherine Tinnin Knowles (1854-1884). Would you by chance have any other pictures of this family and especially of Catherine?
Thank you so much.

From LaFollette/Campbell County, Tennessee:
Eddie McCarty and Pauline (Davis) McCarty are my paternal great grandparents and my dad is Phillip McCarty. I know my aunts/uncles from my dad's family but have lost touch from them for quite a few years and I know almost no one beyond that. I'm trying to do a family tree for McCarty/Davis. If anyone can help me with this, I would truly appreciate it and I would like to connect with you, too.
Thanks so much!

Looking at my ancestor Ali Smith of Campbell Co., I’m finding it a bit difficult to tell exactly how Find A Grave operates. Most of the memorials show entries for the creator of the memorial and the manager, if these are different. For Ali Smith, you are given as the creator, but no separate manager is listed. I assume this means that Find A Grave still carries you as the manager of this memorial.
Since that appears to be the case, will you kindly transfer management of Memorial# 105124807 for Ali Smith to me since I am one of his direct descendants and seem to be the most active researcher on this particular Smith family? Now that DNA has become the newest standard of proof for our ancestors, it seems important that an actual descendant be listed as a contact for researchers who wish to know if they might descend from Ali Smith and Jane Denny. In addition to my online trees, I do have a DNA project set up to assist those researchers who need an answer to this question. As you certainly appreciate because of your own Smith lineage, research on a very common surname can be difficult – any concrete help that can be offered to newer researchers is a boon to genealogy.
Haven’t talked to you for a while – hard to believe that we’ve corresponded over our two Campbell Co. Smith families for 20+ years. Thanks for your attention, and here are my wishes for good luck with research on your Gulielmus Smith family.
A continued thanks for all of the work you do,
Leslie Smith McConachie

Do you have any family connection to the Randall Family? My g.g. grandmother was Margaret Gallion. Margaret was Chester Randall Mother. Any information you are willing to share would be great! Thank you in advance!

|Marsha Miller||James H Miller|
I believe that James Miller is my husband's great great grandfather. I see that he is buried in the Miller Cemetery in Campbell County, Tennessee. Can you tell me if this is a private family cemetery or if we were to travel to Tennessee that we would be able to visit his grave. We were recently in Marshall, Missouri where his son, Jesse C Miller (husband's great grandfather)and wife Nancy Narron Miller are buried. I research stops with James and I would like to find out if his parents are possibly buried there as well.
Thank you, Marsha Miller

The cemetery is on private property.
|KatiLC||The Smith family of tennessee|
I am trying to find information on the Smith family from Tennessee, primarily that of Jackson G Smith who married Malinda Terry and had a son Josiah Joseph Smith. I am interested in Jackson's parents and grandparents. I've been searching, but getting conflicting information, and would appreciate any help I can get.
Blessings to you in the New Year, KLC
