Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have lived in Germany for over 25 years.
Since retiring in 2004, I am a "Johnny come lately" researcher. My sister is the real expert and she is gently leading me along the genealogy trail. My strength on our team is that I love maps and details, while she is the history expert.

As a result of mitochondrial DNA testing (mtDNA) and autosomal DNA (atDNA), we are off in a new tangent... supplementing our paper trail with genetic evidence of relationships. It is not an easy task once you get back to your 3greatsgrandmother, as maiden names are often hard to come by without family Bible records. With help of yDNA testing on a male Stevenson 1st cousin, we know that the immigrant was John Stevenson b c 1656 d 1827 Isle of Wight, VA. Now to find the missing 3 generations between John and James Stevenson d 1836 SC our most distant ancestor. What an adventure it is!

I welcome emails and questions.

My family surnames are:
Maternal VA,NC,SC - Grafton, McCullough, Stevenson, Ragsdale, Perry, Harrison, Wall, Brown, Reed, Murray, Walton, Starke,Williams, Cunningham, Ellender,Parker, Dargan, Jones,Rowlette, Short, Quarles, Batte,Thorn, Hightower,
Paternal VA,NC - Kidd, Powell, Taylor, Williams, High, Pearson, Westmoreland, Norwood, Wyche, Vick, Brewer, Woodruff, Hicks, Alsobrook.

Absolutely. I don't feel that I "own" any that I post. They are ours.

RE: John Stevenson mem 37618033
I received the information from my mother-in-law, she is one of his granddaughters (how many down the line, I am not sure. Would have to find my paper work and re-load my genealogy program). My computer crashed and I have moved to FL and redoing my genealogy is not top priority right now. Especially when I still have my genealogy packed and stored in storage.

Lawrence Brown
Hi Curry,
I have posted a photo on the site for Laurence Brown. I am not sure it is the right photo for his site. If it is not the correct one let me know and I will delete the photo and make a new memorial site.
With thanks,
Emma Walling

James Laurence Brown 161975050
Hope you are doing well. Is james L Brown 1619750520 related to Willliam Samuel Brown 95937458. Jane Barber Brown was William D Wylie Md Mother and he was married to Eliza Ragsdale Wylie. There was a James Brown son of Margaret A Dunlap and Charles Madison Brown in the 1860 Census. 11 years old. I was looking for him when I saw your flowers on James Laurence Brown. Jean and Debbie are getting the Gen. Banq. ready this month.

I love seeing that family have located their kin through Find-a-Grave. When you leave tributes on the memorial pages we have created, it brings smiles of joy to us. It is my privilege to have served you and the Stevenson family of Sumter County, SC!!!

I believe that after Richard Coursar died 20 Feb 1845, Elizabeth Ann Wright Coursar md Thomas L Angus abt 1847. Their son James A Angus is named as grandson in the will of Alexander Wright signed 9 Jan 1852 rec Feb Court Tipton Co TN.
Best,

Hi Curry, Would you like for me to add this information to the memorial? I would need the memorial number. Thanks so much, Janine
