Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired Senior Marine Corps Officer (Mustang) living in Tampa Fla. Researching family history and trees for surnames Rich, Webb, Marshall, Mathis & Wofford.

I have traced and documented my main family line (Rich) back to 1650 Virginia in Colonial America and many 3rd generation individuals participated in the revolutionary war.

The family arrived in Virginia in the 1650's from England and moved into North Carolina and then South Carolina, Georgia & Florida while others migrated west into Tennessee, Alabama, Texas & Illinois. Many family lines changed the surname "Rich" to Riche, Ritch, Reach and others,

It is an extremely large family & I have "documented" over 10,000 direct ancestors to date. I find a lot of personal history and like to add family members personal history & links.

I found many "family trees" in which the older ancestors were WRONG from simply following others previous errors and researchers focusing on their own branch. My goal became to document the ENTIRE family line in one complete database with supporting documentation for all.

When I join my ancestors in the long sleep my database and FAG memorials will be transfered to the Rich Family Assn. (RFA) for all to use.

If I request a memorial transfer be assured they are a close direct ancestor and it easier to make the updates, corrections & add links rather than burden you with that task.

I understand that you might have some "claim" to a memoral as a decendent BUT I would appreciate the transfer to keep the entire family line "in one easy to find place".

If you find a new "Rich" or variant gravesite, please let me know so I may assist you in research for the individual.

Sincerely;
Donald Rich CWO-4, USMC (Ret)

Thank you for the wonderful contributions you have made on find a grave. One of my husbands ancestors was married to Terrell Frederick Reach referenced at the beginning of this email. Terrell was married to Mildred M Green. Mildred is still alive in West Blocton, Alabama. I just spoke to her a few minutes ago. I am still trying to sort out the confusion with Mildred V Reach who died in 2009.
Would you please remove Mildred V from Terrell? The headstone has Mildred's birthdate which is correct for my Mildred but no death date since she is alive and well and almost 91 years old.
I had also made the same mistake of confusing the two Mildred's before I knew what was what.
Thanks so much,
Karen Jeffreys

Pinkney Rich
hi Donald,
Pinkney Rich is not buried at the Rich family cemetery. The marker was placed there to recognize his military service but he is not there.

My great great grandparents. I use to live on that farm where they are buried.Ive been researching 20 years and our cousin Ruth Rich Westbrook published a book on this family line. Some of her info is incorrect, she knows it and has been working on a second publication. Would love to talk with you. I descend through Louis James Rich line.

Question
James O Rich (#33151338), born Nov 22, 1846. The book on Bromley genealogy by Viola Bromley copyright 1911 has a James Onslow Rich born Nov 22, 1846 marring Roxy Lena Bromley (#114904414) Apr 11, 1867 in Plainfield, IA. She died Oct 24, 1888 at West Plains, MO. They had four children between 1869 and 1877.
Given the name and date Iím wondering if there was any possibility this is the same James.
Do you have any information on this one way or the other?
Thank you very much
Jess Bromley

Ruth Thompson Cason Rich
Hi Donald,
Ruth Cason Rich is my Great Aunt. Her father is my Great Grandfather ( Henry S Thompson). I have been researching that line of my family tree for several years and just recently had the break thru to him. Thanks for DNA. I was wondering how you are related and how Ruth became a Rich? Do you know of any of her children by Ernest Cason? They would be my 2nd cousins. I would appreciate any and all information that you can share.

On Jan. 25 I used the Edit option to send a note for addition to his memorial. Did you receive it?
