Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for many years. One of my favorite things in researching is visiting cemeteries. I love to just walk around the tombstones and try to imagine what the people's lives might have been like. I have been contributing tombstone pictures to this site to help fellow genealogists that are a distance away that can't visit their relative's gravesite in person.

My family has been a big assistance to me in my project for this website. My son, Trenton, my daughter, Alena, and my husband, Terry, have helped me take tombstone photos. So a big "THANKS" goes out to all three of them!!

Quote from Findagrave: "The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. THE ULTIMATE GOAL SHOULD BE TO HAVE MEANINGFUL, ACCURATE MEMORIALS THAT HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY, REGARDLESS OF WHO CREATED THE MEMORIAL OR WHO MAINTAINS IT." Please keep this in mind when you request a transfer as it takes a lot of time and money to do research to add memorials to this site. I love working on this site, but I have run into some problems just recently.

I DO WELCOME ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS AND FAMILY LINKS. The more information the better!! I usually get the updates done within 1 or 2 days.

Shoaf
I'm trying to sort out some memorials for family members from far away.

You have a memorial 42927796 for "Elizabeth McKinney Shoaf" who shares a tombstone with her daughter and son-in-law. But there's a partial duplicate of that same memorial in Riverside Cemetery, Fountain County. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Vanetta Zackmire Shoaf was born in 1882 and died in 1972. She may be buried alongside her daughter Olive Arlene Shoaf McKinney since the tombstone would appear to indicate that. But there's another memorial for her 35280213 alongside her infant daughter Flossie in the Zackmire Cemetery at Wallace. Are you able to verify with the records keeper at Riverside whether or not Lizzie was buried there?

I'd like to add information and link family members, but I'm not sure which of the two memorials at Riverside or the one at Zackmire is correct.

Thank you for your contributions!

Anna Murray Campbell
Hi - I was wondering if you had anymore information on Anna. I haven't found her after the 1910 census and see she lived until 1949. I believe she is the same Anna Murray who was on the 1870 Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin census with my gggreat grandparents Paul and Mary Murray. I know she isn't their daughter or granddaughter but am looking into the possiblity she was a niece or other relative.

I think my fried is in an unmarked grave
Hi Lesa,

My fried Mike Bailey died by suicide in 1987, and his Catholic mother was told she could not properly bury him in a Catholic cemetery. In 1988 when I last visited his grave site it was still unmarked. I wonder if anyone has put up a marker yet?

All peace,
Lissa Radke

Elizabeth Rodgers, Memorial# 20194705
I just submitted a request to change the mother for the subject individual and want to explain why. Elizabeth's father, Elisha Rodgers, first married Juliet Evans (Memorial# 19715451), who died in 1849. He remarried in 1850 to Mary Ann Moudy, who became step-mother to Juliet's two daughters, Malissa and Elizabeth, born 1842 and 1848, respectively. Although the headstone says Elizabeth was the daughter of E and MA Rodgers, the birth, death, and marriage dates support the scenario stated above.

Your contributions to this website are much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Cecellia Rogers

Joseph Phipott Adkins
Ms Epperson,
Joseph Phipott Adkins was my great grandfather first married to Alice Thayer Adkins and had my Grandmother, Lena Leota Adkins. My mother knew that he went back to IN. This grave stone helps in my ancestry search. Are you related to him?

Obituaries and other information
Thank you for your many, many hours of work. I have benefited much from the details you have included in the entries created by you for my ancestors in Fountain County and surrounding area. Is it allowable to copy the obituaries to post on family tree sites? Your submission #22149282 for John McMannomy is the particular one I am interested in.

Thank you.

Sincerely, Jessie Barzee

Gary Cook
James W. Cook, Sr.
Lesa:
My family records indicate James W. Cook Sr., b. 1810, is buried in Griffin Cemetery. I found his daughter, Nancy Ann Cook, b.1839 buried there as well as his grandson, James W. Cook, b.1867 and granddaughter, Lucy Voorhees. I also found a number of members of the Lank family whom were close to the Cook's.

Can you help me determine whether he (and possibly his wife, Lucinda b. 1810-12) are buried there.

He died June 25, 1889 and his wife died in Kansas in 1891 or 92. She was transported back to Indiana for burial according to a news paper article of the day.

Thank you for your help.

Gary (Mike) Cook

Thos and Nancy Grisam
Lisa, I submitted an update to Thos. and Nancy Grisam. I got the information from her death Certificate. Thos. is my Great Grand-Uncle and I have been having a little trouble finding information on them so I would like to thank you for entering them into Find-A-Grave. The family nams is usually spelled Gresham with a few Grisham's and an occational Grissom but this is the first time I have seen Grisam.

Also,
