Happily unattached, traveling nurse anesthetist with a passion for genealogy, outdoors, and photography. I enjoy recording and sharing cemeteries I find in my travels with people on FAG. I am not related to most of my memorials; please let me know if I can transfer a relative of yours to you. I enjoy doing photo requests and try to take a few extra pictures while I am there. I try to prepare the stone for a nice picture but don't always have my tools with me (the airlines frown on gardening tools in luggage!) to trim grass, wash bird droppings, etc. Please let me know if I've made some typos and I will correct ASAP. Also, please let me know if you get a better photo and I will delete mine. I'll be always grateful to one of my high school English teachers, Marjory Sharp, Find A Grave Memorial# 117584719, for assigning a four generation pedigree chart and to my great grandmother, Eva Alta Jackson Yeokum, Find A Grave Memorial #20165966, who lived next door and helped me fill it out the night before it was due!|

January 2012 - I am working to "link" my memorials. Links weren't around when I started here, so I'm having to do some serious backtracking! Thanks to everyone that sends additional information for the memorials--I get 10-20 emails a week--please be patient as I work on getting all this added, too.

I think it would be more effective, if you ask them to exchange the Cherokee sign with the Methodist Church sign.
Yes, it is one of my ancestors.
Thomas Denton Elder Sr.
I'm wondering why you posted a picture of a sign saying Cherokee burial grounds?
This was supposed to be a Methodist cemetery. What can you tell me.

Kathy, Alma Ruth Margrave was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Margrave born in Arkansas in 1894 and Eliza Wood/Margrave. My Margrave ancestors were from TN, AR, AZ, and CA. Thomas's father was Samuel Margrave born in TN, Samuel's father was Levi Margrave born in TN. Let me know if we have a connection.

Back in 2011 you posted an obituary for Odis Miller. Unfortunately, the name of the newspaper, page and column number weren't included.
Any chance you still have this information? Without it, the obit and source can't be properly documented or verified.
Many thanks for your contributions to Find A Grave!

Arthur Margrave is part of my Margrave family ancestry, I would very muck like to be made manager of this memorial.

Alma Ruth Margrave was part of our Margrave family ancestry. I am wondering how you are related to the Margrave family. Alma Ruth's father T.J. Margrave was my husbands uncle.

I wouldn't go that far, but thank you for the lovely compliment! I hope you're enjoying the new year. Take care.

Just wanted to thank you for documenting our family cemetery back in 2010, just now learning about Find A Grave site. I actually repaired Coraoma's tombstone and have cleared away brush, brother mowing cemetery, new fence and sign. Hope to put in steps from road, make it easier to visit. We are doing more research on the Botner side of family. Both Jacob and William Botner were Union soldiers from Harlin County, KY, married sisters in Ohio and moved to this farm, which we still have in family. Their older brother John L. Botner was in the Confederate army, we believe had married a girl from Virginia (Harlin County, KY is in far eastern KY, so close to VA.
|Jeff Record||RE: Hello|
Hi Kathy - when I was about 20 years old my grandparents took me from California to visit old friends in KS in the mid 1970's. We went to Pittsburgh or Fort Scott (I think it was Pittsburgh) to visit a woman they said was named "Ruth Evans" and was an old friend of theirs who had lived in Long Beach at one time and then went back to KS. That was over 40 years ago now so my memory is spotty. My father said that this Ruth Evans had a disabled son. I was just missing my grand parents and trying to reconstruct who this nice lady was that we met that day. I remember that she kept a candy dish that always held great treats in it.
I sure hope I have not given you any false leads!
Did your grandmother Ruth Miller Evans ever live in Long Beach, California - say during the 40's and 50's?
My grandparents were good friends to a "Ruth Evans" of Pittsburg, KS, and I am wondering if this is the same family. I visited there with her in 1976.
Any reply appreciated!
