|I was born and raised in Iowa, but have called CA home for over 25 years.|
I am new to family history research, but I am hooked!
I recently made some connections on Find A Grave and am quickly learning what a great tool it is in searching through family history.
I also discovered I have a passion for indexing (and photographing) local cemeteries. If we all do our part, the information each of us needs will be right at our fingertips.
Thank you to those responsible for this fabulous website. What an incredible tool and service you provide!
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

John Balegal is my Great Grandfather through Paul Balegal Sr, to Pauline Balegal and then to me Paul Balegal Jr. If you wouldn't mind transferring his memorial to me, I would appreciate it. And thank you so much for the photo of his tombstone, I would also like to ask for permission to add it to my Ancestry.com tree with credit to your find a grave account of course.

Becky, I was looking back at edits I have sent and your decline came up. Here are his parents names and ect. William G. Coy 1818 & Sarah Steele. Grandparents were Henry Coy 1788 and Anna Marie Schnepp, You see I am from both the Coy and Schnepp families. Cecil had 4 Grandfathers in the Rev War. I really wish you would look this over again and maybe let me write this all down.

thank you so much for covering this cemetery, I wish more people would. This is the step grandparents of my 1/2 sister...Don't ask me why I would do research on them... They were both born in Ireland and had several children Eileen is the oldest daughter then Elmer John, and John J. will check more to see if the John Jacob in the same cemetery is the son.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to locate many C.W. Veterans with ties to Vermont. Jacob Lawrence is one of those soldiers.I am asking you if I may use the photo you have posted on his Find A Grave memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil War site?. ( www.vermontcivilwar.org) You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
