Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Ellen. I live in the Bristol County area of Massachusetts which is centrally located between Boston, MA and Providence, RI.

Gravestone photography is one of my favorite hobbies. Nothing like spending a weekend afternoon browsing the gravestones in a cemetery! I'd much rather do this than shopping in a mall or doing household chores! :-) Many times I add a cemetery research excursion while on vacation too! If there is a way to fit in a "side-trip", I will find it!

I am a member of; where much of my research comes from. Years ago. before computers, it was different. My research back then was by snail mail and going to town halls and libraries. I have kept every bit of correspondence with my older relatives as well. Unfortunately the elders are disappearing and my generation is becoming the older generation.

I am active with the DAR and CDXVIIC, and have coordinated several DAR and CDXVIIC graveside markings as well.

I have added flowers and the "tree of life" to many of my ancestors' gravestones in Findagrave. If you happen to notice you are also related to me, please contact me, as I would love to hear from you. I like "collecting cousins"!

As many of you agree, a gravestone may be the only thing left in the world to remind us of someone who has departed.

I am very interested in viewing gravestones with the surname NOEL, NEWELL, TAILLON, LATAILLE and ALLAIRE. If you find any of these while on your treks through graveyards and cemeteries in New England, please contact me and post them.

I am also interested in seeing gravestones with the DAR and Colonial Dames insignia.

Thank you in advance!

Family names in New England I am researching are:

RE: Robert Davis
Dear Ellen:

The photo of Mary Cook Davis was my great-grandmotherís, Ada Bertha (Jewell) Noble.
On the back of the photo / frame shows the folks in the family who have pervious owned the photo.

The line of provenance is Mary (Cook) Davis to Eliza Ann (Davis) Paine to Alice May (Paine) Jewell to Ada Bertha (Jewell) Noble to Oliva J. (Noble) Merrill. I do not own the photo, but I know where it is and I have scans of the front and back of the photo. I volunteer for the Baldwin (Maine) Historical Society (next time is March 25) and we have a reference book that lists soldiers and sailors in the War of 1812. I will check the reference and if I donít find Robert Davis I will sent an e-mail to the Sebago Historical Society.

I am related to the other side of the family - Isa's mother's side - the Morses. Thanks again for the photo. I live in Arizona - so it makes it a bit hard to get there for photos...! :)

RE: Llewellyn Moore
I uploaded three altogether-the first one prompted your notification.

The plot is well situated from the road.

My 15 year old daughter and I searched the whole cemetery looking for 4 requests. We were only able to find 2. Moore is centrally located; she went left and I went right, but we found it in the end!!

So glad we could help, I may be able to crop a close up of the front of the stone from a high res original. (Llewelyn's name was on the back)
