Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

|Graveyard Grannie||RE: Memorial for Thomas H. Porterfield|
No. I'm not a relative. I work at the Cemetery and some family came in to do some research and when it came to my attention the obit wasn't on there and I had it in my cemetery records; I thought someone might appreciate having it in their records. Thank you.

I haven't seen any duplicates. Good that you caught the ones I missed. I think we do better when we work together.

I see that you have added portraits from burial markers. That is such a good idea. I will do that from now on. Are you working on a project to photograph all of the burials at Evergreen? I see you have added a lot of photos there.
