Genealogy is my avocation. Grateful for the many I can find, and so curious about the ones I can't. Mostly VT, MA, CT, RI, NH and NY, but a few are in Canada, somewhere out west, and in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. There is always another stone unturned.|
While many of these are my own relatives, i am also uploading collaterals, and unrelateds. I would be happy to transfer these to you. Feel free to ask.

|Janet Muff||Sally Potter memorial 109627555|
Carolyn, I see your note on the memorial for Sally (Potter) Eldred in Otsego Co., NY, that you believe she was the daughter of William Potter and Alice Waite.
I had a correspondence with a descendant of William & Alice about 15 years ago that gave Sally's birth date as 6 March 1772 in Coventry, RI, and her marriage to Thomas Eldred, as 27 Jan 1790 at Pownal, VT. He knew of three children: Sarah, Thomas and Electa, b. 1791, 1793 and 1794.
I've been trying to confirm his information but in my own database I have only that William and Alice did have a daughter Sally Eldridge [aka Eldred], wife of Sherman Eldridge, named as the "third daughter." If she was indeed the third daughter then she would have been born before Olive in 1774 and can't have been the Sally (memorial 109627555) who died in 1874, age 92 (b. ca 1781).
I've just arrived in VT and, without my copies of the Potter probates from Pownal, I've no way to confirm the husband's name in the William Potter distribution.
Can you tell me more about this Sally Potter so that I can clear things up?
Thanks very much and I'm looking forward to meeting you as soon as my guests depart.

I am working on my family tree and Thomas Jewett is an uncle. I noticed in the caption for his Find A Grave photo, you said that his stone was moved to Park Lawn Cemetery. Do you know if he was reinterred there or if it was only the stone that was moved? Also, do you remember about where in Park Lawn his headstone is located? Thank you!

You're more than welcome. And I'm hoping we can meet up this summer. Right now I'm in the throes of packing and shipping. Less than a fortnight to go!

Wondering if I could get a picture and/or diagram of his gravestone in relationship to his parents Hezekiah and Mary. Thank you.
