Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my genealogy & family history since 1968 and I firmly beleive that the results should be freely shared; after all, this is "family" history not "private" history. To facilitate this goal I have established a web site ( so other researchers can share and collaborate thier efforts for the benefit of others.

I have taught genealogy classes for several years and have conducted training seminars for other genealogy teachers. I have also been a Family History Library director.

I have 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson (at last count!), and live in Priest River, Idaho.

I came across this memorial and want to thank you for creating it! Walter was the first husband of my Step-Aunt Sue. Her father, Charlie Kaltenthaler, was the second husband of my Grandmother Joyce L. Burrows-Holowach.

Jackson Nicholson
Thanks for the detailed explanation and interesting story. I'm surprised the "family secret" survived that many generations. Jackson Nicholson is my 3rd great grandfather. We've searched Shiloh Cemetery for Jackson and Sophia Nicholson's grave but did not find it. I have many other ancestors buried there as well as Ash Flat Cemetery nearby.
Thanks again for all your work.

Jackson Nicholson
Was curious as to where you obtained the following information on Jackson Nicholson's bio:

"John Paden and Jane Copeland were the biological parents of Jackson, they were not married. Jane then married Mercer Nicholson (1819-1861) who adopted Jackson and gave him his last name."

This is quite interesting for me to read, and will significantly change my family tree. On a lighter note, it also means that my wife and I are not distant cousins after all. Thanks for all your work on here.

RE: Red Skeleton's Son
I read your memorial about Red Skeleton. His son was very young when he died. Do you know what his cause of death was?

I have reason to believe that Bessie Brooks Paded, Memorial #46196158, July 31, 1893,- July 21, 1936, was my fathers daughter. If anyone has any information about Bessie Paden, please contact me.
