May I add a death certificate to a person's memorial page?
Death certificates may be added via the "Add a photo" button on the memorial page. Please select the option for "Other" in the "Type of photo:" to be added, as it is not a Grave, Person or Family photograph. NOTE: Death certificates do not necessarily contain completely accurate information about the deceased. There are often errors regarding the final burial location (as well as other data).

Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,
Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Rockingham Va, Hardy WV and surrounding area.
A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.
Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25 feb 2015.
(When they reloaded it had there old dates like 2007 ETC...Making the other Find A Grave member look like they purposely created doubles)
F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.
Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.
E49 Created above Statement
If anyone gets Find A Grave to transfer memorials cared for by ProjectMgr Just a heads up I dont delete any connected to ProjectMgr.I worked hard to replace all the memorials that had been deleted.Find A Grave choice to re-upload the Old Deleted memorials And we work free on this site.So if anyone wants our memorials Have Find A Grave Merge them or if you don't have a problem merging then more power to you.
I do want to thank anyone that has helped with my duplicates created after the major upload of old memorials formerly deleted.I really appreciate the help

|Bryan Vanshur||Ellen Rebecca Surface Brown|
Hello! :) Ellen was my 4th great aunt. Her brother, George William, was my 3x great grandfather. I'm researching the Surface line on Ancestry and it appears her death certificate has an incorrect year of birth. She was born Apr 1845 (per the 1900 census) and was married to William Brown on Jan 25 1866. Thank you for entering in her info. I try to link family members on Find A Grave as much as possible. Have a great week. :)
|Amanda Snyder||RE: JOHNSON MAJOR HODGE|
Major Anderson and Nancy would be my ggg grandparents. I have found some of my great-grandfather's siblings and have requested edits. However, I have been unable to find information on two brothers, William and John Hodge and a sister Okie who all 3 may have died before they moved up here from Virginia. I am also unable to find Arthur, that would be Dennis's father that is mentioned. He was in the military. We always called him Uncle Tom, I have no idea why and how they got Tom from Arthur. I believe Johnson and Margaret should have 12 children. Three were already linked to them when I started searching, The oldest son George and Aunt Grey(I remember her) and Uncle Junior.
Thanks to your photo with the help of volunteers we was able to find momma based on your picture, thank you
|JBGF||RE: Robert Hodge|
My daughter is dating a young gentleman whose mother is a 2nd great granddaughter of Robert Hodge and Nancy Josephine Stephens. Her married name is Kingrea. He only knew in general terms that he was Irish and Scottish and that the rumor is there is Cherokee in his tree but not sure which side. I enjoy genealogy so I offered to take on his lineage. 😊

|JBGF||Robert Hodge "Captain Bob"|
Hello. I am researching this line for a friend and I am trying to discern parentage. The death certificate attached from 1955 in Montgomery County says parents are Robert H. Hodge and Elizabeth Anderson, yet the bio says Major Hodge and Elizabeth Jackson are the parents. Can you explain the reason for the conflict? I want to be sure I put the right parentage in my friend's tree. Thank you.

|Rebecca Lilly Segura||RE: RE:Lamar SUMMERS Kessler (Buffalo)|
You are right, Summers is the middle name. I found it on SS death benefit application. Sorry about that, my mistake. R
|Rebecca Lilly Segura||RE: RE:Lamar Sherman Kessler (Buffalo)|
I'll double check the name... was pulling from memory instead of looking. Very well might be summers.

I have not found Buffalo's final resting place yet. He died in Brookpark, OH on 25 DEC 1988.
|Rebecca Lilly Segura||RE: Carver Eskew Mystery|
Was a great effort and glad we found the missing pieces! Thanks for all the help!

Do you have similar documents for Buffalo, Jack's brother? I would love to see them if you do.
