Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years age
spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

|Janie Spataro||RE: Our Wise Line|
Hi Virginia, Thank you for all the information.
I only did internet research, so I could be wrong. But my mother always said we were descended from Charlemagne, and genetics tests show my genotype the same as Marie Antoinette's. It would be great to be able to verify our lineage all the way back, but I am not a geaneaology expert. I will defer to those who are.
If you have not done so, I suggest signing up for 23and Me, a place where you send in a saliva sample to determine more. I bet, for example, that we are cousins. It's a lot of fun seeing all the countries where our ancestors are from!
By the way, are you in LA? I am in Northwest GA.
Thanks again for all the info, and please let me hear if you discover more.

Prudence Jane Vickers married Barney C. Kinard, born May 7, 1820 in Jasper County, Georgia, died Novvember 28, 1893. He is buried at the Towaliga Fellowship Presbyterian Church, as is Prudence Jane, his wife. Prudence died March 23, 1920. They had 11 children, all born in Butts Co., GA. The 6th child was Rosa Ann Kinard, born November 14, 1865, died July 9, 1953.
Rosa Ann married my great-grandfather, J.R. Carmichael who grew up on an adjoining farm. He had a college education, and later owned a buggy manufacturer, Carmichael Buggy, Jackson, GA. Rosa Ann and J.R. Carmichael built a Queen Anne Victorian home in 1897. I will put the link here where you can see a story I wrote about it.
So good to connect with you, Virginia.
Through the Wise family, if you trace back far enough, you will find a Rebecca Massie, who is descended from the de Massey name in France. Going back even further, you will find the de Massey family ancestors include Charles II (also called Charles the Simple). I can tell you more of what I discovered, if you are interested.

Good to see other descendants of the Wise family here.

|Gerald Allen||Madden Church|
Small world too. I sent you a message about my Aunt and Uncle Quinton Theo and Verna Moore Young. My wifes mother was from Fryeburg and she was Doris Louise (Loflin) Short who is buried in Providence Cemetery in Ringgold but we have not gotten a tombstone for her as yet. The reason for this message is to tell you that I have a picture of the Madden Church congregation dated in 1948 but I do not have names for them. My wife is also related to the Powell Family and I have a geneology print out on them. If you need to contact me on any of these, please let me know at email@example.com.
|Gerald Allen||Young and Hicks|
My name is Gerald Allen, Pat Carter's cousin. I am working on Find a Grave also. I see you wrote Pat Carter about Quinton Theo Young, and Verna Moore Young. Verna is my Aunt my mothers half sister. Her mother (my grandmother) is Mamie Hicks (Britt 1st marriage) then to Elisha Moore. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

Hi Virginia, I am sorry you could not find the markers of Stephen and Nancy West. The markers are very hard to read.But Stephen has a new C.S.A. marker in front of his old marker. I know their markers are there. It seems like I remember their markers were about middle of the cemetery.
