Bio and Links
Dolores (nee Atkins) Bohn & Daniel Joseph Bohn are members of the Filson Historical Society, Louisville,Ky; the Louisville Genealogical Society; Ancestral Trails Historical Society; and the Nelson County Genealogical Roundtable. Danny is also a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Dolores & Danny have been doing extensive genealogy for many years on both of our families.

Dolores' ancestors resided in Marion Co., KY & Washington Co., KY, and of course before that Maryland. When we do our research & take photos of the stones in the cemeteries in Marion County, which is real often, my roots are there. We have a special fondness for St. Charles, St. Augustine & St. Francis of Assisi, because so many of Dolores' ancestors went to church there and are buried in their cemeteries. Dolores' surnames are Atkins, Phillips, Thompson, Russell, Carrico, Smith, Mattingly, Spalding, O'Daniel, Mudd, just to name a few.

We are dedicated to researching our ancestors and it is very important to us to document our research. Our memorials are a tribute to them !! We feel that memorials should be a special tribute to each person, and we want to make sure that everyone is always remembered!!

Additional info on Grave find
Thanks for all you do. Greatly Appreciate. Am finding, as an O'Bryan, am connected to Cross, Mattingly, Greenwells, and on and on. Found my Great Grandfather to be John Richard "Dick" Cross. Buried at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery. Your info shows his Children to be Albert, Mary Esther(my grandmother), James and Anna Cross. But I also found a Mary Beatrice Cross Miles, and Mary Amelda Cross Mattingly showing their father to be John Richard 'Dick' Cross. These two Mary's should be added to Johns list of children. John Cross is my fathers grandfather. The update would be appreciated for others who may be searching these records. Again, thanks for this site and your work. Was pointed to you two weeks ago. Have made great strides in finding numerous relatives, as my fathers family came from the Marion County, Kentucky region. I'm in southern California, just now discovering my heritage. Thanks again. You do GREAT work.

RE: Herbert Mattingly #46370051
Finally, I can put this issue to rest. Thank you so very much.

This is a long shot because I know Louisville is a big place, but I have a lady who is in possession of two letters written by Bernice Wilodean Mattingly Bratcher which she would like to return to a family member. The only child I know of is Norman Bratcher, last known living in Louisville.

Have you by any chance ever discovered the name of His father? We know his mother was Mary Effie Lee Mattingly.

RE: Re: Bohn Surnames
Hi, Cousins! Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, I didn't see the email you sent me with "genealogy information". What email did you send it to? Could you please re-send the information to my email address: My brother, cousins and I would really appreciate it!

Dolores & Danny,
Thanks for taking the Picture for me. I was hoping it would clarify the spelling of his name. No such luck. That's the way life goes lots of times, isn't it?

Thank you for adding the nice photo of his marker. I appreciate your help with Find A Grave. The photographs and obits that are added to each memorial provides genealogists with more tools to run down research for family trees. Sometimes it would be impossible to trace them otherwise. Your time and effort add more pieces to the puzzle. Thank you.
