I was born in Newton, MA on 1 April 1970 and grew up in Wellesley Hills, MA. My parents are Martha Jane (Gordon) Pontes and the late George Manuel Pontes.

I graduated from Wellesley Senior HS in 1988, J.P. Keefe Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1988, Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI in 1991 and 1994.

After graduation I moved back to Wellesley until 1997 when I moved to Newport, RI where I currently live with my husband Bob and our three boys Bobby Jr (12), Zachary (9) and Cameron (6).

I spend my free time crocheting, doing cross stitch, scrapbooking, watching NASCAR (#3 & #88), doing genealogy, watching the Patriots, the Red Sox and the Bruins. I am a Cub Scout Den Leader and an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts.

My eldest son is currently working on his Eagle Project to help restore the Fort Adams Historic Post Cemetery and document for the State.

My mother Marty got me interested in the family history.

In November 2001 my mother-in-law Mimi passed away In April 2003 my father George passed away In December 2006 my father-in-law Bob passed away. I have been actively working to "fill in the gaps" in what I refer to as the "Family Jungle".

So far this jungle spans the states of: Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia; and the countries of: Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Portugal and Scotland.

As I move forward with my ancestry research large amounts of information are being added to this site, and my main program on a weekly basis.
