trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.|
Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York's lower Hudson Valley and Washington State's Skagit County. I've been known to wander off to Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine given the opportunity.
Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find. I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown.
Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.
I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.
My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed... Click here to see the memorials I've added in the past few 7 days.

Sorry! I realize now you must have declined because father Joseph's grave is posted as burial unknown. I understand. Great work you do, maybe on one of your walks in CT you might find the grave of Joseph Leavens. Best regards!

Had sent a relationship edit for Charles with the Memorial# 155656336 for his father, Joseph. It was declined due to no change although I entered the number. Unfortunately there is still no link to Joseph from Charles' page. Hope you can take the info given here and are able to make the connection. Greetings!

|Linda||Atlanty Diggins' photo on familysearch|
Hi, Sorry, I'm the one that added the pic of her headstone. I deleted the pic and put a note in her "Life Sketch" where to find the pic in case they don't see the sources which includes the link to Find a Grave.

|SBrown||Ellis, Gabriel, and Anna Post|
It looks like you accepted my suggested edits to Ellis and Gabriel Post, but not to Anna. I can understand why you did not approve the link from Ellis to Anna as there are problems with Anna's memorial page. For a start, it says that she is the wife of Garret Post. Actually Garret is her son. I made some other suggested edits to Anna's memorial as well, but the person that is managing the memorial as not responded to the suggested edits yet. I'll resubmit the edit to link Ellis to Anna once the edits have been accepted. Thanks

|Janna Larson||Henry Lewis Pierson|
Is there any chance of a better photo of the tombstone for Henry Lewis Pierson at Ramapo Cemetery? I can see that there is quite a bit of writing on the stone, but cannot read it on the image at findagrave.
The system should resolve itself as to who his descendants are.
