I first became interested in researching my family tree about 14 years ago. I was able to get a good deal of information on my father's family. But my mother's family was proving to be a problem, due to a genealogy nemesis, fire in the courthouse. |
Thanks to Find-A-Grave, I have located my maternal ancestors 3 generations back! Thanks F-A-G !!
Been to Nashville soon for a more 'hands on' approach to the research to supplement what I've already found and was able to visit there graves of my great-grandparents and 1 of my great-great grandparents. I also was able to search the wonderful newspaper archives in Nashville for marriage announcements and obits for several family members, which of course gleaned even more information!
I love visiting old cemeteries (and ghosts towns), but never thought that I would find a place to post some of the photos I've taken. I hope that I can help others like some have helped me in the past.
I have added many memorials of photos that I've taken while wandering through cemeteries in the Tacoma, WA area.
***And I am more than willing to transfer any memorial that I have created, as long as it isn't also a member of my own family..... all you have to do is ask*****
Any photos of headstones that I have taken, feel free to use.
Any photos of people that I have attached to any memorial please ask first before you use.
Families I am researching, all from Missouri/Illinois/Tennessee area: Heffernan, Charleville, Panchot, Timper, Gerard, Aubuchon, Hynes, Dulle, Altepeter.

I do indeed have some of the names, but I hope those Sahm-relatives are still alive! I have not yet found out how to contact people in the USA - in Germany you can find them via their phone-numbers, but of course, in the USA you should at least have a vague idea of the state or county they live in!
I have not yet been able to check the latest national census, I am not a member of ANCESTRY.
Thank you for offering your help,
greetings from Germany

|Karen Reiser||RE: Lena Bennet|
Thanks for the offer to transfer, but no, Lena Bennett is not a relative of mine. I'm a local genealogist for Boyd County in Nebraska and a group of us are trying to update all the cemeteries in Boyd County on the Findagrave website; not just names & dates, but family links as well.
I do know that the edit system is the best way to make changes, but sometimes there is more info found that doesn't fit the template for each memorial :) These little tidbits of information just might help another researcher "find" their missing relative, etc....
In Lena's case - her cemetery stone says Lena, so I believe that should be the name on her memorial page, but with her birth name being Paulina, I thought that piece of information should be noted as well - hopefully in a manner that helps another researcher - such as in the bio box. Since Paulina was not actually her nickname, I didn't feel it belonged in the nickname box.
I also like meeting people like yourself and making connections - so that is sometimes why I use the suggestion/correction email box.
Thanks again for the offer of a transfer, but I think Lena's in good hands already :)

thank you for the information!
You may have seen I am new to the community and English is not my native tongue, so I just have to be more careful with my postings next time...
Greetings from Germany,

Thanks, and that e-mail is a ghost account. I've tried changing it but no luck yet. Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
I use this a lot in looking up Missouri Civil War vets but it is good for all wars up to WWI.
It is the Missouri Archives site.
