Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am Dave Backus, I created and co-own the Backus Family History web site. I live in Elmira Heights, New York. I am originally from the Oswego County, New York area.
You have my permission to use any GRAVESTONE PICTURES taken by me for private uses. For public use, you may use them as long as I AM GIVEN CREDIT. For commercial use, please contact me. ANY OTHER PHOTOS MAY NOT be used without WRITTEN permission on ANY SITE!
I have been doing genealogy since 2003. I enjoy walking thru the cemeteries and taking photos of the real old stones, wanting to preserve them, because someday they will be gone or unreadable.

My Main Line of Research:

My wife's side:

Plus many more branches. Most are from Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania, but family is scattered thru out the United States, Canada and England.

While many of my memorials ARE related to me, there are quite a few that are not. I have no problem transferring the non related memorials to family, it doesn't have to be by the FAG guide lines. All you have to do is ask! If you do not get the transfer it means that that person is related to me.

Known Burials verses Unknown Burials: Please, do not move your Unknown Burial or a memorial from an incorrect cemetery into the correct cemetery and then demand that the contributor delete their correctly placed memorial. Find A Grave states a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location and they will merge those memorials into the correctly placed memorial.

Also I know most of the time I do not get to thank everyone for the photos and memorials, and the corrections. So a BIG THANK YOU!

Upon becoming a memorial, I leave all my memorials to M Backus FAG# 47468547
