Bio and Links
Bio Photo Just a note on the interments and photos. Some are family, some are friends and MANY others are people that I did not know. If you find any errors or want to add information to the person, please let me know.

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and have been working on genealogy for almost 60 years.

My love of genealogy began as a young teenager.

I enjoy just driving into a cemetery and reading the headstones and wondering about the history of the person.

I would be willing to take or retake a 'close up' photos of headstones in the cemeteries around Metro Denver.

At the present time we are working on Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. It might be a life long job but enjoying the challenge.

WE WILLINGLY MAKE TRANSFERS WITHIN THE 4 GENERATION "FIND A GRAVE" GUIDELINES WHICH ARE:
Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for EACH transfer. PLEASE STATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE DECEASED.

Our thanks to all of you who have sent additional information for the memorials.

If you 'find' one of your family member that has a photo of the headstone, I would love to hear from you.

Please know that you are free to USE the photos. I take pictures of headstones out of kindness ...not for my ego or for the "numbers."

Enjoy Life -- It is too short.

Sincerely,

S.McCoskey

Telphoned Crown Hill ...
Hi!

Thank you for your message regarding Fort Logan as not a burial location for Gladys C. DiLorenzo. I did see that her husband is buried at Mount Olivet. I telephoned Crown Hill and talked with "Dany", and am scheduled to call her again on Wednesday, May 17th @ 3PM. She has to research and talk to Family - next of kin. Here is the updated link for Gladys:

Re: Dorothy Bangert Johnson
Yes, that is correct. I have the wrong Dorothy and all that I entered yesterday was incorrect.

I am very sorry for all the confusion.

RE: Fort Logan National Cemetery
I promise you that I spend 12 hours a day on this and there is no field that I won't update as soon as the information becomes available to me. I see that this distresses you and I am sorry about that. But you don't need to spend your evening sending information field-by-field. I am about 20 minutes behind you and I'm getting to them all and re-verifying the accuracy of everything. Because they are bookmarked on my computer, they're going to come up in the order in which they were entered and you and I will just keep stumbling in the dark. I am not in your time zone, so if you can be a little patient with me, I promise they'll all be caught up the morning after the database updates.

RE: Fort Logan National Cemetery
Sure, but we're working with information from every national cemetery, no one in particular. Great Lakes National in Michigan won't update information from today until Monday. Sitka Alaska didn't update anything since last August until a week ago. That's the reason we've volunteered to do this...because the VA cemeteries aren't consistent across the board. When you enter 150 memorials and only 20 of them are updated on the same day, and 30 will be updated tomorrow, and 40 more will be updated sometime soon, and the rest will be done "when someone calls to remind them to close out", you can see why this requires very patient volunteers who are willing to circle back everyday until the individual information is updated. Not everyone works as efficiently as we'd like.

RE: Fort Logan National Cemetery
The list I was given yesterday did not have dates on it. Those that I could find online, I entered. The rest I had to bookmark wait for the VA database to update. They don't update in real-time. So while you sent all those changes, I was also updating the memorials that I had bookmarked. I didn't decline them because they were erroneous (only one was), but rather because the updates had already been made on my end, so there was nothing left to correct. Our Blue Star parents group is one of 4 working on catching everyone who has fallen through the cracks and we have been given information from the VA to get things started. It's nothing personal against anyone...quite the contrary. But when you see anyone having entered a memorial in a national cemetery without dates, it's because the VA hasn't supplied them yet and we would hate to go online and try to decipher who it is and get it wrong. We are given the dates that they were interred or inurned, but that doesn't mean the database has been told to update them to the particular cemetery. This is an ongoing project with about 70 volunteers involved, so I may be the first person you've run into, but not the last. We made it our goal that no one's children who ever served will be forgotten to history.

Curious to find if you are family...
You have added several of my direct ancestors to Find A Grave in the Orr line. I am a 3-great-granddaughter of Wm Asa Orr. Are you also a descendant?
