I live in Los Angeles, CA.|
I give permission to use any picture I have taken for Find a Grave for use for other programs, websites or genealogical purposes. After all, that's why we take the pictures, so people can use them for their families.
I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules.
I will be more than happy to update memorials.
~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

I see you have posted parts of Ken's obituary. I am wondering if you happen to have a copy of the obituary that I could get from you?? I have been researching the family. Elizabeth was my dad's cousin & I have not been able to receive Ken's obituary. I have Elizabeth's. Thank you. Judy

He is dedicated and I love graving with him. We have some good laughs and work at getting locations for each other at HC and Cal. Since we are so well known at each he calls HC and I call Cal. Thanks for the nice words. James

I see you have been in touch with Larry Luna. He and I have become great graving buddies. I go out to East LA cemeteries with him about 2 times a month. Very nice man. Hope all is well with the two of you.

I wish I could help. Sadly I am unable, at this time, to return to Clayton County to do more research. Because there is a shared stone at Saint Joseph's I have chosen to have his memorial (#147861898) remain. I listed it as a cenotaph to avoid future confusion for a volunteer who may take photos of the cemetery. If different information should arise, in the future, I will change it or, if you wish, I will be happy to transfer the memorial to your care.

I think you are right, "That is a first!"
Let me know if I can ever help you out at Calvary again!
|Larry Luna||RE: Mary Evelyn Pellkofer|
No worries Jane! I've been spending a lot of time at Calvary lately so I don't feel my time was wasted. I have a contact that lives close to Queen of Heaven, so when you get a location let me know and I'll get a message to him and see if he can take care of your request!

What is your source for his birth date?
|Terry Chaffee||RE: Charles Bill Moraga Jr. Death 1943|
hmm jane, if he enlisted or drafted in world war one, he would have a card, with minor information on it. and it would say, in this case army. no air force, and the navy is rather hard, you would have to contact NAVAL DEPT in missouri, where all the records are kept. hopefully, his records survived the massive fire in the 1900's, lots of records destroyed because they were paper.
i found everything you have found, plus some fotos of him, and it does, if it is him, look like a uniform or similar. if he enlisted there has to be a card on him, regardless of los angeles, that is a national thing to be posted by military. jane, cannot locate a thing on the guy militarily speaking.....? were his parents walter edward and hettie, or a vivian josephine?
let me know if you know any more. tcbjammon at yahoo com
