Bio Photo I send a big THANK YOU to all contributors, your efforts are a tremendous help to family history researchers around the globe.

Dad passed on family history he learned from his parents. I am honored to continue their love for family history and pass it on to my kids and beyond.

The above photo includes some of my family names. I am descended from numerous pioneer families when West Tennessee and the Missouri Bootheel were wild lands. My earlier ancestors originated from VA, NC, DE, MD, PA, SC, GA, Native American, English, Scottish, Irish, French, Swiss and German, that I know of.

The dates on some photos I have posted may be hard to read, click on the photo to view a larger image.

Currently researching Bailey / Bailee / Baily family in Missouri Bootheel, searching for parents of Mary Louisa Bailey, born 11-27-1874/75, married James Cullen "Jim Corn" Baker. She may have been known as Mary Lou or Lizzie. Possible father Daniel Baily, born 1849, widowed on 1880 census. Can anyone confirm this?
THANKS for any assistance.

Have fun researching your family history!

In the hope to prevent duplication of TIME, EFFORT and MEMORIALS, below are updates of Cemetery Recordings.

December 24, 2012
Dad & I photographed all readable markers and numerous markers which are now unreadable with the passage of time. Memorials and photos have been loaded on the website.

September 13, 2013
I photographed all the headstones and created memorials on the website, click on Request A Photo button if you would like a photo. Sadly about 30 headstones are so eroded the data and inscriptions are difficult to decipher, some are missing names, others are missing dates.

Completed all Sections. If you are visiting Oaklawn Cemetery, I have a map of the various Sections, send an email to request the map, or stop by the cemetery office, they are nice people.

On the page for my father, James Joseph Oosterhoudt # 104486829, you have him as buried in Oaklawn Cemetery. My stepmother cut my brother and me off, after my father's will had been probated (in her favor), and, although my father had been cremated, I was shocked when I was doing some research in Oaklawn Cemetery, and came across the plaque for my father and his brother, Allen Carmichael Oosterhoudt, as we had had no notification that his remains had been interred there. The cemetery manager assured me that the plaque was only a memorial one, and that no remains had been interred. It was my father's last wish that his ashes should be mixed together with those of Allen, his brother's, and thrown off of the dock of the house in which they both had grown up, into the St. John's River. I have always assumed, not having been told otherwise by either my aunt or (less likely), my stepmother. Please add a note to your page about its only being a memorial plaque. (And please correct the spelling of my uncle, Allen Carmichael Oosterhoudt - Allen, not Allan. Thanks for all that you do!

Hello Scott! Thanks for ALL you do for Find A Grave. What a help you have been to so many! Question, please...On 17 Aug 2012 I made Memorial # 95486338 for James but did not know the cemetery in which he is located. I see that you found him and made a memorial. Would you consider us merging the memorial and then allowing me to retain it? I have been asked by a family member. Many thanks!

Thank you very much Scott! This is the first photo request I've made and I am very pleased to be able to see my grandfathers grave. Since my Dad knew so little of his family's history I've been hoping to piece together what I can and F/G is a wonderful tool for that. Thank you for helping make it so.
