Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have recorded the birth date, death date, and last address of your family members. Now it is your turn to edit and enhance their memorials, for the enjoyment of future generations.

Thank you so much to the people who generously donate their time and money to provide information, photographs, and floral contributions to people who may never be able to thank them. I especially appreciate those who remember this is much bigger than ourselves and consistently maintain their memorials in a professional manner, treating others volunteers in the respectful way in which they like to be treated.

FINDAGRAVE MEMORIAL TRANSFER POLICY

First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.

Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.

Fifth, The "Suggest a correction" feature may also be used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials that do not fall under the above defintion. (Be sure to include the memorial ID#s for the family links and how they are related, father, mother or spouse. The original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses, provided the information is accurate.

Sixth, Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.

I HAVE HAD AN OVERABUNDANT AMOUNT OF BAD EXPERIENCES TRANSFERRING MEMORIALS TO MEMBERS WHO QUICKLY LOSE INTEREST AND ABANDON THE MEMORIALS I CREATED. WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR PROFILE AND I SEE YOU HAVE HAD HUNDREDS, OR THOUSANDS, OF MEMORIALS TRANSFERRED TO YOU, I WONDER ABOUT THE NECESSITY SINCE YOU ARE ONLY DIRECTLY DESCENDED FROM 30 PEOPLE ACCORDING TO FINDAGRAVE GUIDELINES.

ONE TRANSFER REQUEST CAME WITH A NOTE ABOUT ALL OF THE BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SHE HAD TO POST WHICH CONSISTED OF "THIS WAS MY FIFTH GREAT GRANDPAPPY WHO I LOVED VERY MUCH". THAT, SOMEWHAT SUSPECT, BIOGRAPHY COULD HAVE BEEN POSTED ON A FLOWER TRIBUTE.

I RESEARCH ALL CORRECTIONS SUBMITTED TO ME FOR ACCURACY BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF MISINFORMATION AND FAMILY TREES WHICH ARE ALL MESSED UP ON RESEARCH SITES. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BUILT TWO SEPARATE FAMILIES IN FINDAGRAVE SO THAT THEY WILL BACKFEED CORRECTLY INTO ANCESTRY. I AM TICKLED TO RECEIVE NEW EDITS AND LINKS, AND AM EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXCITED ABOUT PICTURES AND STORIES TO PERSONALIZE THE MEMORIALS. AND I AM EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA UNHAPPY WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO GET ME TO REMOVE INFORMATION IN ORDER TO REWRITE THEIR HISTORY TO PLEASE THEM.

I AM AN UNBIASED CARETAKER WILLING TO POST ALL THE DOCUMENTED INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE AND HAVE WORKED VERY CLOSELY WITH OTHER FINDAGRAVE MEMBERS FOR YEARS EXCHANGING INFORMATION TO HELP BUILD YOUR FAMILY HISTORY. MOST OF MY DIRECT ANCESTORS WERE BUILT BY AN EARLY PIONEER TO FINDAGRAVE WHO POSTED ALL OF THE INFORMATION I REQUESTED AND TAUGHT ME HOW TO DO IMBEDDED LINKS BEFORE THE RELATIONSHIP LINK FEATURE WAS ADDED. OVER TIME I HAVE TALKED HIM OUT OF A FEW OF THEM, BUT NOW HE SEEMS TO HAVE MOVED TO FLORIDA AND FOUND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH HIS TIME. [I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU BERN] PUH-LEEZE DON'T OBSESS ABOUT OWNING THE MEMORIALS OF EXTENDED FAMILY.

Blanch Rita Krepelka Maddux
She has now been transferred to you.
I don't know who posted the obit in a flower on her page --- they are listed as Anonymous. It's not cited, either. I sent an abuse report to the Find A Grave admins this morning, thinking they would remove it. Nothing has happened so far, even though the message says they'll take action in about an hour -- and it's been almost 4.

And finally, her husband, Lyle Maddux, may still be alive. He was also listed as the surviving third spouse of Mary Lee Bures Shields Maddux, who died in 2005. Her number is 122530546.

Your transfer request for Rita Maddux
I will be glad to transfer her page to your care, but I have a question first.
Would you like me to get her obit and put it on the page first? I'll be at the archives in the morning, and since I already put the citation on her page, it should be easy to find.
One hopes.
This morning I spent over an hour looking for obits -- when the citations weren't correct.

I cannot see if I ever thanked you or not, but double-thanks is not a bad thing! So, thank you for making the change. Also, thanks for adding the other cemeteries.

OAKLEY family graves in Timberlake
Good afternoon,

I just thought I would check in with you. My cousin is hoping to go out to the house/gravesite tomorrow and take pictures of the family home and graves. I am anxiously waiting. :)

I have not heard from the woman who has the same picture as I do of my Andrew Jackson Oakley. I am disappointed but maybe she just got busy.

RE: Claudius Lewellen Tripp #106267123
Thank you! Yes, I have that info on "Linwood". He appears to have had three sisters (Sarah Elizabeth, Annie Lee, and Mavis Irene) and three brothers (Redden Rowan, Claudius Lewellen, and Dallas Ray).

Do you research Tripps?

RE: Oakley Family Cemetery
Thank you again, I will look for a message for her. Even though I am not a member yet, I can see that there are several of the same photo of Andrew and his family on there. Does this link help in finding the satellite location?

RE: Oakley Family Cemetery
Wow, you are amazing, you did all of that based on my request? I wondered why I could not find the Oakley cemetery on here before. I feel a bit silly but also grateful.

The address of the family home/grave is 177 Birchwood Lane, Timberlake, NC.

I am rejoining Ancestry but not until I catch up (hopefully by July) . I am having to re enter all of my family history from my work years ago and switching computers back when things were not in the cloud. I am very curious who had the family bible. It could have been my cousin Priscilla who passed away a few years ago. A few years prior Her house however, caught fire and she lost everything but had sent me original portraits of my great grandparents.

As soon as my other cousin takes and sends me photos of the graves I will upload them. It may take a week or so because he has a business in town that keeps him busy but it will happen

Thank you again. Lisa
