Born and raised in Western South Dakota with strong Germans from Russia roots, but now live in Tennessee. Primary family lines I'm following include: Schaefer/Lux/Deutsch/Littau/Drefs/Mundt/ Schatzthauer/Hogg...and then some. Would like to find the final resting places of as many relatives in the US as I can, but am going to need some help. In return I'm hoping I can assist folks looking for families in the Memphis area.|
If you'd like a memorial transferred to you just ask, follow the FAG guideline of including your ID #, and unless they are part of my family tree, I'd love to transfer them to you. If they are part of your tree they belong with you not me. My pay-off is in connecting folks up with their history.

Mr. Schafer, thank you for adding a memorial for a War of 1812 Soldier.
You stated that A.J. Edmondson has no grave marker which is sad considering he served our country in it's time of need.
Would you be so kind as to contact the VFW, American Legion or county veteran representative so that a grave marker can be installed for A.J. Edmondson. I am sure the any of these organization's would be more than happy to honor a veteran.

Well, according to a write up in a book on the Herringtons in Kentucky, they list 10 children and the last born was a Jesse Jones Herrington. He was listed as Jesse on the 1850 and 1860 census and was Jesse on his marriage record.
I had actually thought of this before, but any kind of record lists him as Jesse.
A real puzzle.

I took another look at the death record. My view had cut off the very left-hand side, so I didn't see it said Father. This is driving me crazy, as if you didn't know. I will have to see what I can find out about the Informant.
What is just too weird is that the William Houston Herrington who married Carrie McHenry had one child named Jesse. And they had another child named Leallian (William Houston's brother).
This makes sense especially when you see the Social Security Application form.
If I ever figure this out, I will be sure to let you know! Thanks for putting up with me!

It's me again. You mentioned that the information on William Houston Herrington came from his death record. I just looked through the actual record, and I cannot find where he lists his father as William H. Herrington. So many people have his father as William H. and the other half have it as Jesse J.
