Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in genealogy since the early age of 4, but getting any of this information from my parents was like pulling teeth. I knew only three of my grandparents' names, and that was all!
Now with the help of my cousin, I have
the names of hundreds of direct ancestors going all the way back to the first Mayflower crossing and beyond! Thank you, Harry, for sharing this wonderful treasure of over one thousand years of family history with me!

If anyone knows anything more about
WILLIAM F. BUCK b: abt 1834 in Fayette, Tennessee, mother is Pemia, brother Edward, and sister Mariah, PLEASE CONTACT ME! (This is NOT the same William Buck who was the son of Jonathan Range Buck and Elizabeth (Houston) Buck from Fentress, Tennessee.)
I believe our William was related to the three Buck brothers, John C., Ebenezer and Morgan Buck, who moved from Fayette, Tennessee to Clark County, Arkansas around 1837-40.
William "F" (not "P") married Sarah Elizabeth Thacker in 1859 in Clark County, Arkansas and was the father of Rebecca "Becky", Joseph "Joe", James William, and Mary Harriet (Buck) Rice. He is not listed in the 1880 census and may have died around 1872-3 in Clark County, Arkansas.
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you! Help me fill in the missing pieces of this family puzzle.

RE: Arkansas Bucks
Interesting fact: My John C. & Betsy Buck had 2 children who married into the Francis family: Sarah Ann Buck (1832-1862) married William Ragland Francis and Martin Gov Buck (1830-1900) married Elmira Francis (1822-1901). William Ragland Francis and Elmira Francis were siblings of Nathaniel B. Francis who was the father of Fate Francis who married Rebecca Jane Buck whose father is your William F. Buck. They are all on find a grave. So you are linked to my John C. Buck in this way.

RE: Arkansas Bucks
My John C. Buck was born 1785 NC (I believe Pitt County). John & Betsy Buck traveled from NC thru
Alabama nnd TN to Clark County, Ark. According to the Clark County Historical Society in the 1992 Book Clark County Past And Present,John C. Buck received a land grant in 1837 for 40 acres in Clark County, Arkansas. The land was in Section 8, Township 7 South, Range 20 West. John & Betsy had 9 children. Their oldest son was William S. Buck born August 7,1818 in NC. I descend from John & Betsy's 3rd child, Morgan Buck born 1823 NC.

Buck family in Arkansas
When you google "Find A Grave John C. Buck" you will also find info on when they settled & where, how much the land was and the acres & other info. The Bucks in Arkansas loved to use the same names-John C. Buck had 2 sons - Morgan and William who both had sons named Benjamin Franklin Buck around the same time. Morgan Buck I came to Arkansas shortly after is father, John C. Buck & they migrated from North Carolina thru Tenn. and Alabama before settling in Arkansas. My Buck family were in Arkansas down to when my dad came to Houston, Tx. after he served in WWII to find a job.

Buck family in Arkansas
I'm from the John C. & Betsy Buck family who settled in Clark County, Arkansas. John & Betsy are buried on their old family homestead off Highway 8 and Old Military Road near Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I got their burial info from Ouachita University in Arkadelphia, Ark. I have John on Find A Grave. Just google "Find A Grave John C. Buck" and it will come up. Click on connections in blue & they will come up. Find A Grave is free. John C. Buck is connected to as many descendants as I could find.
This is my line - John C. Buck, Morgan Buck I, Morgan Buck II, Dock Buck, Dock Buck, Jr., me. There were 2 Morgan Buck families who settled in Clark County, Ark around the same time. The other Morgan Buck married Barbara Beale. They are also on Find A Grave.

RE: Rebecca Brand Church
Lois, I cannot email you. Can you email me? My email is on my page. Just to clarify, you are saying that there is a Mercy Babcock b. 1685 and that she is NOT the daughter of Job Babcock and June Crandall because I just don't understand why Job's will would not mention a Mercy Brand when he mentions an Elizabeth Brand and all his other married daughters by married name.

Also the Westerly records show that a Tobias Brand married a Mercy Babcock in April 1730, so this would be a second marriage and after the birth of Rebecca Brand no?

Help me understand which Babcock family had a Mercy born 1685 if Job's Mercy was Mercy Babcock in 1715. Thanks!

Correcting my previous post - Rebecca Brand Church

Hello, I am inquiring about your assertion that her mother is Mercy Babcock Brand.

The will of Job Babcock, dated March 1715 shows Mercy is unmarried. If Rebecca was born in 1710, she cannot be the mother of Tobias Brand's daughter Rebecca Brand.

Job's will identifies another daughter - Elizabeth - as Elizabeth Brand. Could she be the wife of Tobias or maybe the mother of Rebecca Brand is not a Babcock?

Hi Lois,

I apologize for the incorrect information on their websites. I'll go ahead and remove the links, but I know I didn't add all that information. I've never researched these folks at all, but I suspect a cousin of mine got in here and added everything. I'll talk to her about it. I added the memorial for Austin Buck from a cemetery records book a few years ago but that's all I know.
