Bio and Links
Bio Photo The majority of my research is long distance and Find a Grave enabled me to obtain information otherwise unavailable to me. The generosity of others, adding memorials and photos, resulted in my decision to become a volunteer.

When I fulfill a request I try and take the surrounding headstones - I find that they are more than likely to have a memorial, but there are times I have to enter the memorial. If you find they might be yours, request a transfer and I will make it so.

I have been working on genealogy for about 35 years. My main research is the Pennsylvania area.

You may use my photos for your family history with my blessings!

I am tracing Siters; Bowers; Clouser; Kirk; Rush; Powell; Quay; Shurtz; Sollenberger; Schmidt and many others.

If you see any errors please let me know. It will be taken care of ASAP.

Several memorials that I have created on Find A Grave are non-relation. If you are family and wish to maintain their memorials, please send me a request through the edit tab on their memorial page and I will transfer maintenance to you. If you have additional information or notice a need for any corrections, please send the information through the edit tab on their memorial page.

RE: Franklin, Hulon
Dear Carol,
I thought the infant might be of interest! So, I went ahead and snapped a photo of it. Just let me know how I should post it and I'll be happy to do so. I also snapped a photo of a sign that has the names and phone numbers of the trustees. AND, the Antioch Primative Baptist Church!! I think the web address is, but may have to double check that.
You absolutely have my permission to use the photos in any way that need. Just so happy to have found a way in which they can be appreciated! I probably have 2000, or so, that I have collected over the last year. There are several that are just marked by old feild stones. Do you ever run across any like that up your way?
I plan to learn how to clean the stones properly, as they are sometimes are hard to read. Especially from a photo. I'll let you know when I have spoken to the caretakers, and let you know if they'll give permission.
Your new friend!

Hi, I was able to locate and post a color photo of John to his memorial (same short as your B&W). If convenient could you delete the B&W one?

Thanks, Mark

Understand about the notes, I mostly use Ancestral Quest for that same reason and save to Ancestry's search/record system I prefer the AQ. You could also use family search and choose to not make you information public. Even with my Pennsylvania family tree not public and not searchable Ancestry still manages to make some data public. Wish you good luck.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 70005817
Carol, Sorry you didn't do so well. I have found that the early Pennsylvania records aren't very good and with so many of the emigrant having the same last name and then all of them naming the children after the progenitor. Even with using Google search, Fanilysearch, Ancestry and several people who know the area, I have still hit some high Brick Walls. Although I must say that it's been interesting.
Do you have a tree? I'm on Ancestry with a private tree, I can link you in if your interested. Primary names are Landis, Kauffman and Alsdorf...
