Bio and Links
Bio Photo I come from a long line of "storytellers" or keepers of family history. I was first inspired to study history and genealogy by my paternal grandfather, Alonza Nelson Parish, when I was a very young child. My maternal grandmother, Margaret Frances "Fannie" Mobley McElveen, was also a genealogist and lived to be almost 102 years old. She remembered stories of just following the Civil War.
Other than Parish, Mobley, and McElveen, I am also researching Simms, Crone, Gay, Taylor, Wellons, Coor, Liles, Rhodes, Todd, Massey, Walker, McMillan, Jordan, Brashear, Coke, Corker, Fowke, Allison, Chambliss, Northington, Chappell, Briggs, McKee, Byrd, Tilden, Sutton, Briggs, Dye, Neil, Towns, Livingston, Clark, Ruffin, Windham, Bracewell, Harden, Mattox, Crouch, Wall, Teague, Ricker, Green, Powell, Wheeldon, and Blair.
I love to help other people find their family and honor their loved ones.

RE: Francis W. Neil
Hi Nancy, Thanks for getting back to me! Francis W. Neil is also my great great grandfather but through his son, Samuel Augusta Neil. No one in my family has ever formally tried to do our family tree before. Although my Aunt does have some history she obtained through talking to older relatives throughout the years.

I would love to have a copy of the will you mentioned. That is very kind of you to offer.

I don't personally know where Frank and Molsy Neil are buried but there is a link on find a grave for them here https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=107282220 and here https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=107281989. I do know that their son, my great grandfather, Samuel Augusta Neil and his wife Francenah S. Carter Neil are buried in the Carter family cemetery in Ocala,FL https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Neil&GSfn=Samuel+&GSiman=1&GScid=2245803&GRid=23981667&

RE: Winnsboro
Dr. James Riley McMaster, Sr., was my great-great-great-grand-uncle. His grandson, James Riley McMaster, was the pharmacist at McMaster's Drugstore in Winnsboro for many years. He was unfortunately paralyzed in a car accident in the late 1950's, and was invalid for the remainder of his life. His wife, Mary Lou, was the granddaughter of Chang Bunker.
By any chance, would you consider transferring the management of the memorials for Robert Carpenter and Ella Elliott Gooding to me? They are my great-great-grandparents, which I realize is not within the Find-A-Grave guidelines, but I would appreciate it anyhow.

Best,

Nathaniel T. McMaster

RE: Allisons-Sorry!
Thanks, Nancy!
I 'm not nearly as confused as I was. I'd love to be in touch with your contact. My email is messed up but I think I can read it only. I'm getting a G-mail account soon so I should be able to converse with her. Of course, this message on Find-A-Grave works, too. I have some bits of info I can offer her as 'm local. Thanks again!

Allisons-Sorry!
Nancy-
I just found your April 2015 notes on your Allisons. THANK YOU! I'm connected to the Allison family who came, I believe, from Londonderry, Ireland, to Madison Co about 1820. I was pretty sure that there were at least two distinct families in the county. Yours seem to have located in the WNW part of the county (near Reuben Stone's). I think America Allison was yours?
I need to get up to speed on this but it does make more sense to me than it did. Thanks again.

Winnsboro
Good evening,

If I may so inquire, what is your connection to the town of Winnsboro? I am a native of Fairfield County, and noticed that you have referenced Nelle Sprott's History of Bethel A.R.P. Church.

Best,

Francis W. Neil
Hi Nancy,
I just wanted to make contact to let you know that Francis W. Neil is my great-great grandfather on my dads side of the family. I haven't been able to find anything out about Francis' parents and wondered if you have. Thanks for already filling in a bunch of blanks in the Neil family line for me.

RE: The Gay Family
Hi, I don't know if I responded to your posts.

Elizabeth Clark(1812-1895) married to John Asker Gay was my 2nd great grandmother. My line goes thru her son, Emanual Gay, then Miller Lamar Gay, then Tula Lee Gay & me.

We recently located Elizabeth's & John Gay's graves. A cousin took the pictures & sent them to me. I tried to visit when we there last Nov, but was unable to.

I still have family in Laurens Co. My dad's sister Julia M Gay Coleman turned 89 in May.

I would love to exchange info with you,
Karen Gay Thompson
