Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching the Camp families for over 40 years as a request from my grandparents, Otis and Litha Camp, who raised me from an infant. I have visited many states and even been to Europe to get information. My wife is probably tired of me using our vacation time and money to visit Camp locations and cemeteries. I do this to keep the Camp memories alive and help us to remember them.

I had gotten started with Find-A-Grave a bit late; consequently, many Camp memorials had been already created. To all you wonderful people who created memorials and have graciously transferred them to me, I THANK YOU!! I will take good care of my ancestors and Camp relatives.

To all you wonderful photographers who have taken headstone photos, THANK YOU!! It all helps to honor our families!

To those of you who have asked, I do NOT have my genealogy on Ancestry.com. I keep it in a database in my computer where I have complete control over it. HOWEVER, I am willing to help fellow Camp researchers with any questions about the Camp families.

In my spare time I publish genealogy books for others as well as for myself. I have published several books on the Camps of New England. I have finished my book on the Camp Families from Edward Camp; all copies have been sold so we are adding more recent information and creating a second printing. A DVD version will be available soon as well. Contact me if interested.

You're welcome. I come across the Camp name in most of the old cemeteries I go to. If I find any that are not on Find-A-Grave I'll add them and let you know. JIM

Cyrus Camp
Hello,

I uploaded a photo of Cyrus's grave today. I alerted the memorial's creator that the stone says he died in 1959, not 1958 as the memorial indicates. I also asked him to add biographical information I received from an obituary that was placed on the cemetery's burial plot card for him. Unfortunately, the obituary was not dated, nor was the source newspaper identified. I have a photo of the actual obituary if you would like me to send it to you via email. Find-A-Grave does not allow posting of actual news clippings without permission. The material I asked to be included in his bio follows:

Cyrus T. Camp, 408 Avenue A Northeast, Winter Haven, Fla., who died Friday evening, was born in Midland, Mich., December 9, 1891, a son of George R. and Cynthia Hamilton Camp. Mr. Camp had been a photographer in Ypsilanti for 35 years retiring in 1935. He married Bertha Horton in Ypsilanti on August 12, 1922. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, a past member of the Ypsilanti Rotary Club and president of the Winter Haven Tourist Club in 1952, 1953, and 1957. At the time of his death, his children included a daughter, Mrs. F. D. Gingrich, Fort Wayne, Ind. and a son, Dr. Donald Camp, Niles, Mich.; six grandchildren; two brothers, J. Arthur Camp, Ypsilanti, and Ernest Camp, Midland, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. J. Williams, Belleville, Mich. Funeral services were held at the Stevens and Bush Funeral Home, with Dr. W. Clyde Donald officiating.

Hope this helps!

I removed the caption.....but i had said the name was spelled wrong on the memorial, not the headstone. Evidently after i posted the photo, someone corrected the name....??

Dr Robert North
Hello, what proof do you have that Robert North died 1779 and is buried in Nine Partners Cemetery?

Thank you.
