Being able to assist people in locating relatives or having photos of the grave site is my way of giving back. Recently, I have made an effort to place a flower on veterans memorials honoring their service to our county. When you see a vets memorial, stop a moment and recognize their service with a flower. |
So many obits have no burial information leading one to believe all of these people have been cremated. Is this really the case? If you see a memorial I have indicated an incorrect burial, please let me know. Hopefully, as we all walk cemeteries we will find the headstones of those thought to be cremated. By photographing and sharing we can correct the records. Even with vague burial information, what you post will be a valuable asset to others future research.
Because of work done by other Find a Grave contributors, I have closed many gaps in my genealogical searches. If I have posted one of your friends or relatives, please let me know, so I can transfer the memorial to you, ~David
*If you see a duplication I have created, please let me know. I'll cheerfully correct my error.*

|Nancy Yankie Sidarous||RE: China Spring|
Hi, David - thanks for your nice message --and WOW! you know China Spring. I was a Cougar for all 12 years before I went to Baylor. The new school is on Yankie Rd, land given by my two Great Grandfathers. And I'm related to the Talberts, Burts, Grayson's, --all of the old families, in more than one way! My family has been there since the 1800's. We're all related in "Chiney", but I guess you figured that out! That's why we've always been so clannish. My G Grandmother Whitfield helped start the cemetery. Thanks for messaging me. Happy Trails, Nancy (ALWAYS a Chiney Gal)

Thank you very kindly for bringing this to my attention as I didn't realize it was a duplicate. They were so close (memorial numbers) that they were most likely created simultaneously. However, the other contributor was first so I just deleted mine. I appreciate your help, and that it was done in a kind way. I've received some fairly rude messages lately --that didn't use to happen! I appreciate it. Happy Trails, Nancy

Thank you! I am not related, but I know her daughter is a new Contributor on Find_A-Grave, so I will transfer to her when I get Anita linked to everyone.

Thank you for the transfer.
|RollingCrone||Thank You for starting my grandmother's page|
I was hoping you could transfer Find A Grave Memorial# 167285168 to me? This is my grandmother. She was the oldest of 8 children and she had 8 of her own children.
She was married two times. Her first husband died in 1951. Her second died in 2000. She lived in 49 US states in her lifetime.
There is a lot of information connected to her very long and adventurous life. Let me know if it would be okay if I managed her memorial. Thank you!

Thank you for transferring the memorial for Mrs. Minnie Lee Cole Price to my care. I sincerely appreciate your confidence in me.
Warmest genealogy regards,
|T.H.||RE: New Zion Cemetery, Catahoula Parish|
Upon further research per www.la-cemeteries.com, unfortunately it isn't the same cemetery as Rev. Andrew Powell (my grandad) is buried. However, I did see another entry for the same Rev. Oliver being buried in Zion Cemetery in Grant Parish, and I don't believe that particular entry to be correct.
While both Foules and Sicily Island are both in the Catahoula Parish, Rev. Oliver is buried in New Zion Cemetery in Foules, LA and Rev. Powell is buried in the cemetery at New Zion Baptist Church in Peck/Sicily Island, LA in which he lived a stone's throw from during his lifetime (LOL!). I hope this helps! :-)

|Mary Martin Eisel||Ashland Cemetery.|
Dear David. I am sending this message to everyone who has a memorial set up at the Ashland Cemetery.
It is listed as being in Gilmer, when it is not. It is in Ashland, but since they no longer have a post office, the next closest town is Diana 75640.
Will you go in and see if you are able to make the correction? I have contacted F.A.G. and am doing all I can to get it changed. Thanks, Mary
Thanks for the tip. As soon as I can get someone to go with me I am going to get me one,
My oldest granddaughter tells me that is a store outside of Charlotte so we will go when she has time .
Have a great day, thanks again

Hi David! Thanks for the addition of her parents! If you are related or connected in any way, I'd be happy to transfer her to your care. I'm not related that I know of… it seems I'm connected to so many in this cemetery! Just let me know! Blessings, Dana
