RE: CAPT. WALLING ~ N.Y.P.D. Ret.
Thanks for your reply, Ruth.

I am surprised that Walling's (18231891) marker was not preserved over the years by some police-supporting civic group or the like as he was a prominent figure in his efforts to keep law and order for many years during the worst crime era of N.Y. city
He played a major role during the draft riots breaking up several large mobs in the Bowery and other nearby districts.

Do you think that the cemetery records would show what happened to the marker?

Do you have an email for contacting them?

Thanks again,

Larry

What is the reason for not displaying the head stone for Capt. Walling ?

Thank you,

Hi there,
I found that this person is not my uncle... are you able to remove the comment/flowers for John Hennessey from Dorothy Vigano?

Becker Stone on the Smith Memorial
I did a bit of research into my great aunt's side of the family and found the nickname she went by too. Added about forty more people to the tree and came up with nothing. I then researched the names on the stone in the papers to see in they were connected in a different way and came up with nothing. I asked my 90-year-old great uncle and he said the name didn't mean anything to him. Could a caption be added to the picture stating that there is no known relation at this time and that it is there as a marker so you know where the flat stone is? Because the Becker stone completely threw me when I saw it as the main picture. And then when I added pictures to a great aunt I saw that you don't get a choice in order of pictures. Thanks!
