|Shirley Spencer||RE: Locate graves|
Magnolia Cemetery is located in Shelby County of TN. at 435 South Mount Pleasant Road, Collierville Tn. I was just advised to send this request via this way, had no idea who or where that person would be that would read this Magnolia Cemetery is a very old Cemetery, I don't understand why more grave markers have not already been photographed in this cemetery. If I under stood it right only about 14 markers have photographed. Do you not have a photo volunteer in this area that could take photographs of markers in this cemetery. I am interested in Luther and Tressie Carpenter; Lealon Carpenter and Lucille Brigance, all located in the same area of this cemetery. A photo volunteer came out a couple of weeks ago and took pictures in a nearby cementery. If you can't help me, please send a site that I can go to to request photos of grave markers in this cemetery. I can't make my request any clearer: Bottom Line, I would like some photos of grave markers in the above mentioned cemetery for the above listed family members.
Also does "Find A Grave" photo volunteers do photos of grave markers for private (family) owned cemeteries? Please send me a site that can help me especially with Magnolia Cemetery in Shelby County, Collierville, TN.

Thank you so much. Are you related? I'm always looking for more Wright family.
|Shirley Gragg||Gilly Wright|
Hi. Just came across your Find A Grave Memorial# 71997738 for Gilly. Please let me know how you determined her birth date? All records I've found for her indicate
Birth 18 SEP 1788 • Rowan County, North Carolina
Death 31 AUG 1841 • Knox County, Indiana [this is a month off - but do-able]
This page shows one thing [sorry about the length of the link}
while the page 'behind' it - [after you click on the link to open the actual memorial site has a different date.
Birth: Sep. 18, 1797
Death: Aug. 31, 1841
I'm having a difficult time determining her birth as 1797 --- Did you actually pull the grass aside to determine the year/month/date that was written on the stone.
I'm coming across many headstone errors and in this case I believe the headstone may be incorrect.
My relationship to Gilly - she was my GGM's half sister. Gilly was born to Richard Wright and 1st wife, Nancy Morgan. My GGM was b. to the 2nd wife.
Thank you for taking the time to post the site for her. Are you family related?
I added the information you sent
Thank you so much !

After some research I found his wife name was Margaret Cunningham Wilson. His headstone states he was born 1801 not 1803.
|Darrell G Mounts||James Carrico|
Other than the 1860 census what record do you have that disputes the grave stone?
|Marc Doty||William Talbert|
The 1850 and 1860 census gives the person's age on June 1st. Since they might have a birthday later that year, their age and calculated year of birth would change. From my experience, mistakes are made on the census quite often. When there are conflicting dates, I always go with what is "carved in stone". Also, the 1900 census has his birth as January 1835.
