I've been researching my family tree since 2001. It's something I always wanted to do, but put it off. I have an undergraduate degree in history, the genealogy is a great hobby for exploring my interests, and making history personal.

My mother's ancestors all came from the UK and Ireland: Thornton, Lewis, Toomey, Small, and Shephard are some of the more common surnames in my tree. My father's tree is pretty mixed: French Canadian (Cadieux & Perrault), norwegian (Olson), Fryer and Collister (unknown).
