Bio Photo I got the genealogy bug when my great-aunt's grandson sent me a photo of my 2nd great-grandparents on their 50th wedding anniversary with the entire family. Only 4 people in the photo were identified. Since that time I have contacted relatives I did not know I had. I have also been able to identify everyone in the photo now. I have done research not only on my surname but grandparents, 2nd great-grandparents on both sides. I especially love doing research on my mother's parents because Parke County has a great website. I am at a stand-still on my own surname as I don't know exactly where in Prussia my 2nd great-grandfather was born. I always love to get in contact with new "cousins".

Oh I really am over the cold!!! And the rain is becoming too much too😊 Hopefully warmer clearer weather is on its way! I have loads of sites to locate...I do not stay focused when I'm cold!
Take good care of yourself!

RE: Joe Derr Hardesty
Good morning Jim, no, did not find any military records on him except the two drafts. As I mentioned:
WWI is Joe Derr Hardesty
WWII is Joe Derr
view of his signature reveals the E in Joe on both is a backward 3 so have to say, it is of the same man.

Also, according to the death certificate, informant his nephew Cleo - he is marked Never Married and NO is checked in the "armed forces" section.

Have yourself a very nice day and catch you another time. Warm Hugs, cousin Dott

RE: Mary D Mater or Mather #81208555
I noticed the number of Mater spellings also...not sure what to make of that.

I know that Thomas Mather comes from "my leg" of the family....
his dad is James Mather #145332721

However I will be looking at this spelling to see if any I cannot find might have used it....I think it possibly comes from a pronunciation and then spelling, but not sure because so far none of the others on that list are mine....except her son LOYAL DIXON MATHER

her dad, Phleming Dixon Johnson #72581617 is in this cemetery.....that helps to know I have the right girl

thanks for your help

Hello Jim - question - on his memorial bio you have indicated he may have served in WWI why is that? Looking forward to your answer! Dott

Hi Jim!

The Office is uncertain if there was ever a stone. Regardless due to son many above ground stones found, this is the area of the burial site. Site location is Section 14, Lot 22, Block S1/2.
I hope this information is helpful.

Weather was wild here today; I did not get a lot of searching done😞 I'll get out again tomorrow!!
