|In September 2007, I retired after teaching mathematics for 30 years. Almost immediately I became hopelessly addicted to genealogy. I have photographed relatives' tombstones in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee, New York, Wisconsin and Missouri. I have published two books: "The Ancestry of William Floyd Myers in Jay County, Indiana," and "Salamonia Christian Church, 1842-1999." I'm currently working on a book about my Myers family genealogy. |
I was born Judith Ann Myers in Richmond, Indiana, and spent the first 35 years of my life in various parts of central Indiana. Then my family and I moved to Tennessee for 2 1/2 years, then to Tempe, Arizona, for 5 years, and finally back to Knoxville, Tennessee, where we still live.

|Nadeen Sobottka||RE: Hettrick photo|
Hi Judy, yes I'm aware that "fake" flowers can be removed, however, if you look at the Hettrick stone, it's a "live" plant that was covering the name. That's why I had to photograph it in sections. But thanks anyways. Regards, Nadeen
|Nadeen Sobottka||RE: Hettrick photo|
Hi Judy, you are very welcome. Sorry they were photographed in pcs., however, the flowers were crowding the last name. Just wanted to let you know that I had the correct people, otherwise, I wouldn't have done it that way. Regards, Nadeen

I happened across Catherine's grave when I was visiting Salem and was drawn to it so I took a photo. When I googled her name I found this site. I thought you might like the photo.
|David Jones||RE: Document evidence of Charles Segar parents?|
Thank you so much for your reply! Yes, I have seen Ronald W Webb's excellent work. It has helped me a great deal.
By the way, Do you think Belinda's maiden name may have been Badger? That's a second line of research I'm on today...
I have to say, I am having difficulty finding documentary evidence that Josiah+Marguerite Segar are Charles' parents.
- I cannot yet find a baptismal record of Charles in the Drouin collection. Earliest Hemmingford records for the Catholic parish there (St. Romain) seem to be 1838 (http://www.originis.ca/paroisse_hemmingford.html), predating Charles' birth in 1827.
- Ronald W Webb's genealogy does not cite any source for Charles as son of Josiah and Marguerite.
- nosorigines does not list a Charles as son of Josiah and Marguerite (though other children are missing too, so this may mean nothing) -- http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?genealogy=Provost_Marguerite&pid=1325815&lng=en
Recently, AncestryDNA results for a person descent of Charles & Maria came back _not_ a match to four individuals I know to descend from Josiah & Marguerite Seger.
|David Jones||Document evidence of Charles Segar parents?|
Hello - Thank you for maintaining this site! I am a descendant of Josiah+Marguerite Segar. In my research, I am finding that DNA results of descendants of Charles are not showing the link to the parents listed here, Josiah+Marguerite.
Myself and several others, we would surely be grateful if you might share the source(s) supporting the identification of Charles Segar's parents as Josiah and Marguerite.
This connection seems to be widely circulating among those who research this family, but I cannot find any documentary evidence and now that DNA matches are not supporting it, I have my doubts.
Truly grateful for any help you can give on this...
|Kathy Andrews Wright||RE: George Lloyd Andrews attending Yale|
The one search is for officers and students, which I would think should have included George if he was there. 8 did. Little search for Dayton school records but not for long. It was Dayton, right?
|Kathy Andrews Wright||George Lloyd Andrews attending Yale|
Judy, I got this from the search request I submitted to Yale. The mystery continues as to whether he really did attend Yale--and under what name. Thoughts?
I am writing in reply to your e-mail inquiry of February 16, 2017, regarding George Lloyd Andrews.
One of my colleagues consulted the Catalogue of the Officers and Graduates of Yale University, 1701-1924 but did not find a graduate with the name George Lloyd Andrews between 1759-1851.
I consulted the Catalogue of the Officers and Students for the academic years 1823-1841/1842 but did not find a George Lloyd Andrews listed in any of the schools (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) of Yale University.
Iím sorry I could not be of more assistance. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I wanted to let you know that I added a photo onto a memorial that you have created in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis. There was already a photo on the memorial but the one that I posted as a little bit clearer. I do know the gentleman to took the original photo and I can ask him to remove the original if you would like or I can remove mine if you like.
|Lake Runner||George Lloyd Andrews|
Thank you for the Bio Source Information. I have included it your suggestion into George Lloyd Andrews memorial.
Thanks again Judy!
