I'm an avid photographer/archivest, having taken the majority of both my and my husband's family's graves. We take (outdoor) cemetery photos from March/April to November or December/snowfall within an hour or so in all directions of N'east Wisconsin, incl: Outagamie; Winnebago; Calumet; Manitowoc; Sheboygan to the East; and in the West: Waushara, and some of Portage, if we're in that area. Mausoleum photos, of course, can be taken all year.|
NOTE to those requesting grave photos in Wisconsin: Although each year is different, we don't usually see any ground-level graves until at least April, given the weather in our area. Thanks for understanding!
Here's a poem that touches my heart. It is the reason we are in this service; for both the living and those who have gone on before us.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked On a lonely, windswept hill; Today we talked where other cried For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched By graves of tiny babies; Snatched from the arms of loving kin, In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay In the last sleep of their time; Lying under the trees and clouds - Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot; Who lies beneath this hollowed ground? Was it a babe, child, young or old? No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay. We had been here once before On a day we'd all like to forget, But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin The graves of ancestors past; To be preserved for generations hence, A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend, For stones sometimes crumble to dust And generations of folks yet to come Will be grateful for your trust.
When corresponding, please indicate the name of the person/people whose grave photo I took. Thanks! :)

|Bernice ||Re: 89383388 John M. Turney, Sr|
Hello! I was thrilled to see you had posted a memorial for John M. Turney, Sr. and one for his wife, Mary Jane Rogers.
In looking at the death date for John M. Turney, 1910, I have to wonder about that year.
I just recently found a death notice for John Turney in the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, Dec 11, 1915.
It stated that John Turney, born in Mercer Co., PA May 1833, but moved to this area in early manhood.
He served 2 years in the Civil War. Four of his nine children and his wife survive. 'Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery. I also found a short notice in Green Bay Press Gazette, Tue Dec 14, 1915.
I found these on Newspapers.com and have three articles 'clipped,' or I can send you a copy via an e-mail.

Isadora Mary Eckrich Wallace Torsrud (1888-1985) is buried at St Mary's in Menasha. She is with her first husband James Thomas Wallace (1883-1918). Michael Christian Torsrud (1882-1952)has a record on the Appleton Public Library's Obituary Index. All that is listed for burial is Oak Hill.
Michael C. Torsrud
Born: April 1, 1882
Died: March 29, 1952
Place of Birth: Neenah, WI
Notice Date: March 29, 1952
Name: Oak Hill
He was born in Neenah, so I am thinking he might be in that Oak Hill.
Thank you for your prompt response.

In reviewing the Find A Grave memorials at Grace Lutheran, I was very impressed with your well done work! If you wish to find another cemetery to "shoot", may I suggest Our Savior Lutheran near Valders. I work with Shari Milks and try to add obits, photos, links, etc. to various cemeteries. Educational and enjoyable too!

I talked to Patty's sister today. She said that this is indeed her sister. Somehow the wrong date was put on the tombstone!

I didn't realize when I was looking up corrections/additions, that these are Emanuel's sisters and brother. As with Emanuel, I need Adelin and Marie (Picard) Le Comte's memorial links, in order to join the family members together. Thank you!
