Barb's Family Tree

TO GIVE

The memories of all our yesterdays
live in the corners of my heart,
A time spent not so long ago,
where you will forever be a part.

I tell everyone I meet how very proud I am of you,
And how Hard it was to let you go
even though I knew you'd want me to.

But now somewhere, someone is smiling
because of the joy that you could bring,
And I know after listening more closely,
it's the song of unselfishness when I hear a bird sing.

And even though you can no longer be with me,
I still feel that you are there.
Perhaps, that's the bond that goes unbroken
when a love is truly shared.

So, I'll only say farewell because in good-byes I don't believe,
For I know that time will come again
when you'll be holding hands with me.

Find A Grave Memorial# 139136627

On June 5,2017 I visited my great grandmothers grave as well as others and took pictures for Find A Grave Site at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd,Kentucky and I took a picture of Sarah Wells Richmond's Grave Stone while was there. I did not see a memorial for her at this grave yard on website so I created one for her. I was researching her family and came across your memorial an seen you have her listed there at Smith Cemetery. She definetly has a grave stone located at Brick Union in LLoyd,Kentucky could there be a mistake on where she listed buried cause I have come across a few already since been doing grave memorials that funeral homes and state death certificates have been wrong due to misunderstanding when filling out paper work.

Thank you for responding. As I mentioned, I had found several times when her name as James P., but I think the SS application/claims form letter settles it. ha. Actually, I found a photo of her with a couple of their children and she was shown as James Petris. That is so very weird. I know that back then daughters could be given a male name just as sons could have female names (i.e., Marion was fairly popular). I'll bet Petris is a family name as well.
Thanks again!

You have posted a flower with note that John Milton Sharpís father was James Petris Sharp. So you are saying that Milton named his daughter after his father: James Petris Sharp? Perhaps the daughter's name is Janie or Janis Petris Sharp? I know that's now how you spell Janis, but it does look somewhat like the name James. I have found some documents where here name appears as James, but Iíve been holding on to the theory that it is an error, however, am I the one making the error?

Say - since you left flowers on his page, are you also a descendant?

Barbara - if I have asked this of you before, please forgive - my husband needed my nursing, we moved deep into Texas and now he has passed and I am healed enough to get back into my obsession of family history.

If you ever go to Graves Cemetery, could I ask a great favor which is to take a picture of my GGGrandfather, Silas Arthur Richards head stone. I know this is a big request but I have no way of getting there now to look.

He participated in the War Between the States in the Confederacy until being caught and then was made to join the Union until he was (can't think of the word) out altogether. But his death year was 1874 and he was only 31 years. Since there was so much bad blood in NW MO, I am trying in vain to find out if illness or murder took his life.

At anyrate, it would so help me to at least see his headstone. If there is anyone you know up there who could do this for me, I would so much appreciate it.
