Daniel Landon. Daniel was my 2nd GGF, would you be willing to turn this over to me?

I have a picture of him in post war uniform (we determined it was post war based on what appears to be ceremonial medals on his uniform.

I also see that you are collecting information on the 106th. Daniel was wounded at the battle of Monacacy, was in the hospital in Baltimore, went home and eventually died of his wounds. I have a copy of a letter he wrote home from the hospital and have a reprinted letter that appeared in a newspaper that he wrote to his son.

We visited Monacacy last year and it was very interesting.

I'd love to share with you and learn what you've collected on the 106th.

Joel,

The cemetery superintendent allowed me to see the records yesterday. There are 11 civil war veterans buried there surrounding the Soldier. I added the photo to their memorials last night, and created new memorials for those who did not have one. If you are interested email me & I will give u the list of those members of the McIntyre post that erected the statue in 1906. There is a photo of the men on one of the memorials.

RE: Capt in 106th NY
I would, if I can find my electronic copy. A distant relative copied everything and donated it to a New York Historical Web site, but I don't remember which one. A Civil War one I think.

When I changed to Windows 10 with a new computer I lost everything I had transferred from my old computer. It also turned out that my backup disc was blank.

I think I have a hard copy, but will not loan that out. Reason being, I did that with some other information and it was never returned and the guy I loaned it to said he couldn't find it.

Sorry about that.

John J. Christeson

P.S. The Captain's name was Abel Tepel LaForge who later became a partner in the Macy Dept. Store.
