James Clarence Carpenter #43353538
Hello,

He was my first cousin, but never met him. Knew his Mother, my Aunt. His Mother was Ethel Mae Sloan Carpenter #170938437. His Father was J Harold Carpenter #28810241. Could you please link them up?

Thanks,

Dave Sloan

RE: Rose Loretta Mattingly
I'm batting zero on all three of Benjamin's wives. Seems there's nothing out there at all. If I do find something I'll certainly pass it along.

Rose Loretta Mattingly
Hope the year has begun well for you Dennis. I don't know if you have an answer for this or not but thought I'd run it past you, just in case. I think Rose Loretta was herself a Mattingly and daughter of Benjamin Henry Mattingly and Mary Ann Brooke. So far I haven't been able to verify that belief.

Thanks for the write-up about the shooting. I had hard the story before but the info you provided was a great addition to Find-a-Grave.

John Garner
Hello. I work near Fort Lincoln Cemetery and would be happy to take a photo of your request for John Garner's gravesite. Unfortunately, I have been going to Ft Lincoln three to four days a week and they limit the number of requests per visit to two per day. Is it possible that you could email the assistant director asking for the Block, Lot and Grave Site for John Garner-and then forward it to me. I will then take a photo of it and post on the site for you. The assistant manager is Willie Cason and his email is Willie.Cason@DignityMemorial.com Thanks!

RE: Illegitimacy
Hi Dennis,

Yes that was the very cemetery.

I was not implying that by any means that he was. Having read that whole description there were references to illegitimacy and I was responding in a general sense, because when we encounter that, it tends to be a shock, when it does not have to be.

Incidentally, while I cannot read the stone clearly, at the top curve, I see מיכל. I don't know if you know this either, but I came to learn that this does not necessarily mean a man's name was Michael. Michal often was paired with the name Yechiel, as in Yechiel Michal. So I'm sharing that for what that is worth also.

Best,
Madeleine
