Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Retired Registered Nurse and an avid Genealogist. I live in Western NC. I have been doing family research since 1978. Most of my memorials are family or allied lines to my family. Some are from cemeteries I have visited in other counties and states. If you have a request for transfer of ownership and you are related to the person in the Memorial, let me know. Also I will be happy to link family members. I am also a photo volunteer if the photo is in my county of McDowell, NC. I have been a FaG Contributor for almost 11 years. Please make your request using the edit tab.

Elizabeth Hunter Simmons
Wow! Thank you! So our great-great-great grandparents (Elizabeth Hunter and Israel Leander Simmons) were one and the same and your 2-gr. gran. Rebecca and my 2-gr. gran. Lydia were sisters. Hello cousin! Do you know where Rebecca is buried?

RE: Lydia Birchfield Hunter
I forgot to ask--from which of her children are you descended? I am from Lydia's daughter, Elizabeth Hunter Simmons and her daughter, Lydia Simmons Hemphill.

RE: Lydia Birchfield Hunter
I apologize for being so late in my reply. I haven't had time to work on my history stuff like I wish! I am also a direct descendant of Lydia's and yes, I have seen her tombstone, but it has been many years. My family worked to clean off the cemetery many years ago, but it was on private property. It is my understanding that visitors are not welcome now, though it is not from personal knowledge.

RE: Alney McFalls & wife Matilda McKinney
I also have that situation of G/G/G/Grandparents being buried at extreme locations. One in Tennessee and the other in Illinois. The posibility is one passed away and the other one had to move in with a family member located at a different location. roger

Roxalena Caraway
Hi Anita,
My name is Mike Warren. I noticed you made a post on Roxalena Caraway's site about the great story she had to tell. I have to admit, I'm so curious about that. She was the sister to Squire Arbra Warren, who was my grandfather. He passed before I was born and my dad, Clifford Warren, passed when I was 7, so the Warren family has always been of interest simply because I wasn't able to be around them much, although my mom tried very hard to make it happen. Over the last several years I have been able to re-establish contact with several Warren family members, but there are still a lot of holes for me and a few brick walls I have hit.
Thanks for any information or stories you might be able to share.

Rebecca Helton - Blair Cemetery

Thank you for the work you are doing. Are you positive about the information on Rebecca Helton, wife of William Helton? I know there are many who think Rebecca was the daughter of Silas and Sarah Helton and that she died in 1870. If your information is correct than I know I need to search another avenue for my husband's family...long story. I have a picture of agrave marker at the cemetery that does not show her date of death but does show Silas and Sarah were her parents.

Thanking you in advance.
