Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am from a long line of respectful descendents. I grew up watching my parents and grandparents tend the graves of several generations. I am working on documenting the Fairview Park Cemetery - the "official" list is full of errors and deleations.

I am a distant relative of a man who came to America on the Mayflower, men who fought in the Revolutionary War and every war since. I'm from a long line of strong, determined, smart pioneer women that settled the plains and Northwest states. I hope to make them proud and record and preserve their stories.

Sarah Smith background
I placed some additional information on her memorial. I would say that her parents are Joseph L Ferris and Rhoda ? Your thoughts?

Cyrus McMillan
Hi Alice! I was putzing around trolling for some info on Cyrus McMillan & this wife & children. I happened to find your name whilst looking at the Durham entry that shows the middle name of Lycargus. Since Cyrus's son's name is Lycargus C McMillan & your maiden name is McMillan & Mr Durham's middle name if Lycargus, there just might be some kind of connection.

Cyrus McMillan first shows up in York PA in the Quaker meetings. Right after he marries Sarah Essley (Indiana 1837) he is removed from the Quaker roles. The McMillans along with the Essleys move thru Indiana to Washington County, Iowa, where they all settled in. Sarah died in 1851, the same year that, it appears, both Lycargus & sister Annette are born. Annette is my ggrandmother who married Lafayette Nichols and settled in Russell County, Kansas.

There is no grave marker for either Cyrus (d.1860) or Sarah (d.1851). So searching backward for ancestors is rather dicey, at least it is for me.

Does any of this ring a bell? Is it possible you or your kin have knowledge that than assist me?

I hope so. Thanks for interest in reading this rather long message.

Warmest Regards,

Andrew Zerger Memorial# 76145116
I just found a newspaper article that links this Andrew to my Zorger family! It says that Andrew was visiting his sister, Anna Moothart, and took seriously ill. He returned home to Pratt, NE. Anna is the sister of the Elizabeth I'm working with, so this Andrew is the missing brother. :)
I saw on his daughter's memorial that it said Andrew and Fannie married in 1877. I found an index that might be theirs that says they married in 1857 in Macon County, IL. It's for Fanny Hooker and Andrew Gayer. I suspect it should be Zorger or Zerger instead of Gayer. (I have found it is very common to find this name transcribed incorrectly.) Unfortunately, there is no image that I can look at. Do you know what their marriage date is?
Thanks again!

Andrew Zerger Memorial# 76145116
Hi, I'm doing some research for a family member and the Zorger/Zerger family is part of that research. I am looking for a sibling of one of his relatives. I'm curious to know if this Andrew Zerger might be the missing person. I noticed you posted pictures on his memorial and was wondering if you know anything about him. The Andrew I'm looking for was Andrew Zorger (but previous generations spelled it Zerger), born between 1828 and 1834 in Pennsylvania, moved to Illinois in 1839. Frem there he went to Kansas and was noted to be "a large land owner." His parents were John and Mary Furringer Zorger. So far, that's all I know about him. Do you know if there is any possibility of this Andrew being the Andrew I'm looking for?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

RE: Ferris Family Tree
Below is the only Joseph Leroy Ferris I have listed in my Tree. Of course, I do not profess to have all the Ferris', impossible.

( JOSEPH LEROY FERRIS born July 31, 1821 Ovid NY; shown in the 1850 census as residing Eaton Rapids MI; married Lucinda Hall Lord

Obviously, this is not yours....apparently the 2 wives of yours was Mary Ellen and Rhonda.

I note you are on

Your Joseph was apparently born in Rochester Co NY but that does not mean his parents were born in USA.....during the 1800s, many Ferris from Ireland came to America. Yours might be one of them.

Wish I could help you.

Adam Harrouff bith 1820
Curiosity I was wondering if you may have other photos of the Harrouff family? Adam would be my 3rd great grandfathers brother. Basically one of my Great Uncles.

OH! no I'm sorry. I entered it from the records of the cemetery, so I would guess she is there, however there is no date on the stone and the only date on the cemetery records was the birth. I had posted the number for the cemetery contact at one time, but I think it has been removed.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help!
