Mildred Lupkin Arnold
Thank you for the info. The 1920 census lists Mildred as daughter in the August & Irma Lupkin household. The 1930 census lists her as adopted daughter.

After my mother's (Mildred) death in 1980 my father, William E. Arnold, told me that Catherine Lupkin was my her biological mother and that her father was a priest (name unknown).

I have been unable to obtain a birth certificate nor the name of her father. There is a baptismal record for her in New Haven shortly after her birth.

I recently discovered that a person named Catherine Lupkin who has a high probality of being Mildred's mother lived in Los Angeles according to the 1910 & 1920 census. Catherine may have given birth there and then returned to New Haven so her brother ,August, and his wife, Irma, could adopt Mildred.

As time permits I hope to contact the hospitals and Catholic Churches in the area to see if they have a record of Mildred's birth.

That's aall I have been able to determine at this time.

I would be interested in learning our relationship. Would you share your family history with me?

Thank You,

Mildred Lupkin Arnold
Mildred Lupkin Arnold buried in New Haven, IN is my mother and Catherine is my grandmother (thought to be my great aunt for many years because Mildred was adopted by Catherine's brother and his wife Irma). I'm somewhat new to genealgy research and have been unable to locate a birth certificate for Mildred nor any information about her biological father. Any assistance in that regard is appreciated.

Caroline Zierleyn
Thank you for the beautiful picture. I am a decendent of the Zierleyn family.
Caroline Zick Zierleyn is my great great grandmother. Her daughter was Augusta Caroline Zierleyn. Augusta married Warren Chapman Smith. Their daughter (only child) was Isabelle Smith Ward (I don't have her middle name), this is my grandmother. She married James Raymond Ward. They had 10 children, one of which is my mother. Isabelle Smith Ward and James Raymond Ward are buried in St. Joseph City cemetary in St. Joseph MI.
