I became interested in FAG as a result of working on my ancestry. I was born on the 19th of September 1955. I am the mother of four children , and grandmother of two. I believe as long as we live we should keep the memories of our family alive. As well as knowing, the lives our ancestors lived, the choices they made, is for a large part, why we are who we are today.|

|bvn||Permission to use photos, please?|
Hello. You have added photos to memorials of some of my family members. So far I have found the Willey family in Springdale Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. May I please have your permission to include your pictures in my family records? Credit for the source would be included, and copies would be for personal use, not for publication or posting elsewhere on the internet. Thank you very much!

|Ellen Hoyt||RE: Madison State Hospital|
Thanks Sharon. I do have a paper the hospital mailed me last year. I just filled it out and will mail it off tomorrow. My mother had a stroke last year and fell as a result having to have 7 surgeries to correct all the breaks to her leg and foot so haven't had the time until now. I wonder why he isn't listed on the 1940 census as a patient but I guess I will find out his information soon. From what I understand is my aunt was his emergency contact but it sounds like the family just threw him away and didn't care about him which is very sad. I used to work with the mentally ill in group homes and most of them had no family contact so I've seen what that does to a person.

My name is Ellen and I had a great uncle Louis Pence DeVault at Madison State Hospital. I was told he was admitted twice in the 1930's and he stayed until his death on June 30th 1969 and his body was donated to science. Have you seen any information on him? I haven't been able to find a census record for him past 1920 when he was still at home with my great grandparents. I no longer have a picture of him as an adult as many of our family photos were lost. I do remember him having black hair and a mustache in the picture I seen of him.

Thank you so much for finding my great-grandmothe/grandfather, Inez Ashby and George Ashby, AND my great grandfather/grandmother George and Sarah Smith!
Your help is so appreciated. I hope to visit Madison someday (all of my mother's side for generations were born and lived near Madison) and see the cemetery for myself. Meanwhile, you helped so much. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for your time for the photo of my family's marker
I just emailed you.
By the way, I forgot to tell you that I also visited Section 13 where Artie's father is supposed to be buried. As I suspected, that is impossible. In Section 13 there are no letters, only 3 numbers to identify the grave location. When the memorial was created, the information about the burial location was entered in error. It should have been Section 12. The rest (range, plot and grave number) are correct.

I just want to say thank you very much your photo contributions!
I just posted new photos with the marker that has his name and grave location on it.
