RE: Bohlin's
I am not sure if our Bohlin's are linked or not. My husband's Bohlin family came from the Syria area in the late 1800's. I know most Bohlin's in the country are actually Swedish, other than this little 'tribe'

We did have a Charles Bohlin that lived in the southern half of our county at the same time of his Great-Grandfather. They are shown to be going through the naturalization process at the same time and nobody has the story of how they changed Abu Alam Farah to Bohlin hehehe. I think Great Grandpa said the name so fast they just caught 'Bohlam' part and thought he said Bohlin heheh

Sorry for the long delay in response, life as I am sure you know can get in the way of research.

RE: Cora Bell Smothers Taylor.
MAYBE I typed it wrong. I'll check Zenita's letter and get back to you on what she wrote. Did you know her? She was a wonderful lady. I enjoyed my visits with her. She told me that she and my Dad (Harold Turner) were best of friends when they were younger. I remember my Dad talking about her a few times over the years.

Children of John and Mary: Elizabeth, Edward, THOMAS, David, John, Esther, Mary Ann and Clarisie.
Elizabeth married Henry Gleason. Their children were: Clarince, Henry, Jess, Carl, Claude, Rose and Grace.
Edward married (she doesnít know who) their children were: Jess, Jim and Rose.
THOMAS married Cora Bell Smothers. Their children were: Frank Taylor and Esther Taylor. Cora died when Esther was two years old and Frank was 4 years old. (Esther is my grandmother who was married to Charles Turner).
Thomas married again to Sade Cornwell. Their children were Clifford and Freddie. (Clifford was Larry Taylorís dad).
David Taylor never married.

Mary Ann Taylor (first mention of her so donít know where she came from) married Gene Clute. Their children were Alvira, Nellie and Minnie.
Clarisie Taylor married Sam Cornwell. Their children were George, Lilly and Vernon.
Esther Taylor (daughter of John and Mary above. Not to be confused with Esther Taylor Turner) married ______ Gill. Their children were Clarence and Vernie. (She didnít know Mr. Gillís first name).
Susan Taylor married William Nelson Gleason. They had a daughter Cynthia who married Pete Fischer. Their daughter Zelda married Dick Thibadeau. (She said they married about 10 years ago, so that would be about 1976). Dick died and Zelda married Merl McCartney. Zelda lived in Iowa. (Merl was Aunt Hazelís brother. Aunt Hazel married Frank Daniel Taylor August 9, 1942. Aunt Hazel was born December 3, 1895. Frankís dates are August 7, 1896 to August 9, 1942).

RE: Cora Bell Smothers Taylor.
THANKS for the note on a bit of our family history. My personal email is and you are welcomed to use it to contact me. SOMEPLACE (I can't find it) I have a letter from my Dad's cousin Zenita and it traces the Taylor male side back to England. When I find it I would be MORE than happy to share it with you. Yep, Esther is my grandmother. I can remember great-grandma Taylor (my grandmother's stepmom). But was pretty young. Never new Great Grandpa Taylor although my older siblings knew him.

RE: George Potasnak
Are you saying the one in St Mary's with the spelling Potosnak is not the same one?

RE: George Potasnak
The stone for George reads:
George Potosnak
Born 1870
Died 1920

George Potasnak

You have George buried in St Anthony Cemetery in Minneapolis, but I believe I just found him today buried in St Mary's Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Minneapolis. Do you want to move the cemetery to the correct one?
