I so enjoy getting to walk around cemeteries and take pictures of grave markers. I also love that FAG exists and gives everyone a place to "remember" their loved ones. |
With that said, I recently found that a FAG contributor requested moving flowers (or images) not be posted to "her" memorials because "I think you would agree that your gesture is about respect for the dead, and not a competition of who can find the most distracting jpeg." I am quite disgusted by that comment. As far as I am concerned, even if I did create a memorial, it is not "my" memorial. A family member or friend should be able to leave any tribute they see fit on their loved ones memorial, as I am not to judge what is appropriate for someone else.
REMEMBER: Find A Grave is a wonderful place to find family and friends who have left us and every memorial we contribute adds more value (and love) to the site. Refusing to transfer a memorial to a family member is just plain rude and selfish; not to mention against FAG's policies for a direct line family member. If you don't want to "play" by the rules, leave.
With the exception of my own personal family photos, photos I post can be used by others for their personal, private and/or non-commercial use. If you want to post them to Ancestry or similar site, please respect my efforts. Do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com or similar site without giving me credit. Simply copy and paste:

Do not know if you set that cemetery up, but it's located in Cushing, Nacogdoches County, not Douglass, Nacogdoches County.

I would like to that you for the creation of the memorials for my family members. It has been a great help to me. If it is possible I would like to request to have you transfer family to me.

It is refreshing to see promptness in responding to requests. It is very much appreciated and is an example to be emulated.
Thank you very much indeed.

You add my gg-grandfather's to Find A Grave and I had already added him in 2008. I do not know who put the stone for him, but he is not buried in the Lone Star Cemetery in Nacogdoches. What the family thinks is that he is in an unmarked grave and we feel like it is on the land that he own.

Hello I am a 4th cousin of Frank Perry Adams I was able to verify via his obituary today ! Yea!! Years of research. His wife Minnie Adams was the informant on the death certificate and did not know the corect information on is parents. His Father was John Adamski and his Mother Frances Kordylas Adamski was possibly his mother or step mother. The siblings mentioned in the obit are both full and half siblings. I am working on verifying it all and long to link them all correctly! Frances married John N Shofner I have requested his obituary to verify where he is buried. Not sure if he is with Frances? at Oak Grove?
