I have been doing genealogy for several years and have taken several pictures of my family and relatives grave stones. I am a retired pastor and my wife and I do a lot of traveling. I have many hobbies but photography probably tops the list even though some pictures don't come out the way I want. When I take a picture I try to make it as readable as I can and try to post all that is on the stone. I'm not just trying to post to get a large number but to help others with genealogy as I have been helped.|
I have found a lot of newspaper articles and the funeral brochures that my parents had of people that I didn't know but I have posted several. I would be glad to help in any way that I can. I will transfer your relatives or close friends if they are not my relatives.
You may use any pictures that I have posted for genealogy purposes only.

Hi, John. I am still working at Bliss Cemetery in Champaign County, Illinois. There are 2 different William Rudicills/Rudisills at the cemetery. You have them both entered, but you have the same gravestone photo for both. I'm going out Sunday, and I will verify which William the photo you have goes with. I think it's the William whose Dad is Washington, but I will double check. I'll also try to track down the other William's stone. Their surnames are spelled differently. Thanks so much. sherry smith-stanford

|Susan Hill||Andrew Shehorn, 48th Illinois Infantry Regiment, 181940346|
I am the Maple Hill Cemetery Historian and presently researching and locating all Union Soldiers that died here in Huntsville, Alabama between 1861-1865.
Being that the Union soldier was in *gasp* the South, they were sadly placed in unmarked graves.
I was able to connect Andrew to his family by researching the Pension papers that I obtained from several sources and the state of Illinois.(http://www.ilsos.gov/isaveterans/civilmustersrch.jsp)
At this time, Andrew does not have a "marker" but he soon will as it is part of a project that will be taking place over the next few years.
Of the 228 (to date) soldiers that I have found as having died here in Huntsville, Alabama, during the War of 1861, I found approx. 10% have Find A Grave memorials (i.e. buried in National Cemeteries and/or hometown cemeteries).
My desire is to give these soldiers a memorial that gives information on their life while in the army and what caused/lead them to come to Huntsville, Alabama where their life was ultimately taken either by skirmish, train accident and/or disease.
In the 48th Illinois Infantry Regiment, Andrew had the fellow soldier William Connelly (memorial not created as of today) and William Turnham (181819229)that died here also.
If you have more information on Andrew (his life before the war) please let me know. I would love to be able to give him a 'beginning to end' bio on his memorial.

|Martha Kelley||Rev. William Thomas "W.T." Witherspoon|
Hello Rev. Sims,
I am the granddaughter of William Thomas Witherspoon. I would like to have Rev. Witherspoon's memorial transferred to me if you wouldn't mind. I have created and am still creating other memorials for this family as well.
Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to post the lengthy biography of my grandfather's life in the church. Did you know him?
