Thomas and Rebecca Dye and Children John S Lott, Elisha Lott and Martha "Patsy" Sandifer Lott
This was sent to me by Elisha Dye's Family.

In your quest for Elisha Dye deeds, is the one you mention the only one you found? Was it in the County of Chester?

We are trying to pinpoint Rebecca's maiden name. We think she might have been a Sandifer. Rebecca's daughter married Thomas Lott. Thomas Lott named his daughter Martha "Patsy" Sandifer Lott - says so in the Bible pages of Thomas Lott's sister. Martha Sandifer Lott married a Mr. Peay, and Martha gave her daughter by Mr. Peay the middle name of Sandifer. Additionally, Martha had a brother named John "S" Lott. We have ordered his estate record of 1840 from Richland County, S.C. to make sure the meaning of "S" is not in fact revealed.

If Rebecca _____ Dye, wife of Elisa, was indeed a Sandifer, there is a possibility that she had her own estate, and Elisha Dye might be the one listed in the index of Chester or Fairfield deeds as the one selling what land his wife Rebecca inherited, so it is important to learn from you whether or not you saw any other Elisha Dye deeds.

One more thing - apparently the Elisha Dye deed that was gathered was a sale of Dye property. What we would be looking for possibly is a deed where Elisha Dye is listed as the seller, and Rebecca appears to be releasing her dower rights, when in reality, if one were to read the property description, the land being sold would be land originally owned or granted to Sandifers.

Thank you so much for anything on more Elisha Dye deeds you might have!

I didn't follow up on this I think I will because it could be that Rebecca Dye's mother was Rebecca Sandifer?

Also Marshall the three children were John S Lott, Elisha Lott, and Martha "Patsy" Sandifer Lott. Look on the Bible records of the children and Elisha Dye's names of the Lott children. Who is Sarah Lott?
Bible records of Johnathan and Elizabeth Dye Mackey.

Information was sent to us in 2002.
Information from Doug Wheems, Henry County, Georgia
He is descended from the Elizabeth Mackey. She was the wife of Jonathan Mackey. He gave us information from a family Bible, that probably belonged to Johnathan and Elizabeth Mackey. It contains the births of Johnathan's three children by his first wife Cecilia Land. But it also contained the births of children. It shows John S Lott born December 18, 1874; Elisha Lott born October 18, 1796; and a Martha S. Lott born March 28, 1799. Patsy is a nickname for Martha. I believe they were the nephews and neice of Elizabeth Dye Mackey. They may have come to Georgia with the Mackey family since they are included in their Bible pages. The page from the Bible was in the family since they are included in their Bible pages. The death side shows John S. Lott died January 21, 1851.

Eliza Catherine Elbert Smith
Marshall, we are cousins, My Great Grandfather and your Great Grandfather were brother's. My Great Grandfather was Henry Hardin Lott, yours was Henry Austin Lott. Julia Fisher Elbert was my Great Aunt. My Great Grandmother was Effie Sarah "Elbert" Harn, Julia Fisher's sister. Rowland Elbert and Elizabeth Peak are my Great-Great Grandparents and yours.

You and I both have Benjamin James Lott and Nancy Ann Smith and Rowland Elbert and Elizabeth Peak as Great-Great Grandparents.

Remember Henry Austin Lott and Julia Fisher Elbert and Hardin Henry Lott and Effie Sarah Elbert were married in a Double Ring Ceremony at the home of Rowland Elbert in Blue Mound in 1883.

I know what your saying about Eliza Catherine Elbert she was born in 1859. I think the children of Eliza put that birthdate of 1858. I can't prove that she was born in 1859. I will leave it and put a biography on her memorial saying that she was born in 1859, and that the tombstone has 1858. What do you think? I think if I just put 1859 on her memorial and not explain why I will get other people like you telling me it is wrong.
I haven't heard from you in a couple of years, I heard from JT that you went to the Lott reunion, I couldn't go because my granddaughter graduated from High School and I went to Oregon. I still have the same phone # give me a call would love to talk to you, also my email is on Find A Grave. I still live in Amarillo, Texas.

James Holley/Josie Watson
James Holley is my daughter-in-law's great grandfather and Josie Watson, her ggrandmother. I went by the cemetery in Hurst today and, needless to say, I could not find the graves. Do you have a map of the cemetery? The city library did not..
