A poem I came across, perfect for us, cemetery walkers;|
"Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone. It reaches out to all who care, it is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist, you died and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled so many years ago, spreads out among the ones you left. who would have loved you so. I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew, that someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you.

Interesting, wonder why he's not listed in his brothers and sisters obituaries. Guess I'll have to call Jean. Thanks for the info. Nancy

I know. This is really strange! I'm afraid that even John's father isn't an explanation. John Gordon's Dad John, was born in 1806 in Antrim, Ireland and died on 24 Oct. 1864, in Puslinch, Wellington Co. Ontario Canada. I know there are 2 lines of Tighe's in Ontario, Canada and they aren't related at all, maybe this is one of them? If it's not one of theirs, the only conclusion. I can make is again, the date is when the stone was placed.
I'll keep researching this and I'll stay in touch,
Nickie R. Tighe nee' Brown

|Jean Pichette||Memorial Transfer|
Memorial: 151643939 is of my great-great- grandfather. If he is not a close relative of yours, would you agree to a transfer? I will understand if you wish to continue to take care of it. It's truly a unique find.

|Mary Trace||Neil McLean tombstone, Acton Pioneer Cemetery|
I was wondering if you were the person who linked this tombstone to his daughter and my great grandmother, Catherne McLean, who lived in Erin Twp and was the wife of Peter McArthur. For nearly 40 years I have been trying to find out what happened to Neil McLean. I am not sure that this is him, although his wife was a widow in 1871. Can you offer any assistance as to who linked them and why? I also have two Find A Grave cemetery in British Columbia. It is a wonderful thing to do and I have enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for all your hard work. I know what is involved. Many thanks for any help.
Regards, Mary Kearns Trace
