I became interested in genealogy several years ago and recently retired and it has become a bit of a passion. I am building on excellent research done by my father about 20 years ago so I had a running start. |
Please check the Orphan Virtual Cemetery for those who are not in my family tree. These folk need to be reunited with their families.
If you are a distant relative and find anything that I have posted, please feel free to copy for your own use. I have collected quite a bit of documentation and I am happy to share with others working on the same relatives. The collection has been a labor of love and if I can save anyone a few steps, I'm thrilled to do it. If you are descended from anyone on my memorials, please let me know. I'd be glad to transfer anyone who is not in my direct line so you can honor your family member. And I may be able to direct you to other well documented family trees I am aware of. Plus, I love meeting distant relatives I never knew about and together we have been able to solve many mysteries. Amazing how the pieces are so spread out and fit so well when they come together.

#99967922 - Just an FYI - This is my husbands Great Grandmother and all of our records show the last name as Bisbing, not Bisbine. She was the daughter of Thomas Bisbing and Roseanna Ling both from Pennsylvania

Thank you Jan for putting up a picture of William Alexander Kimble. I have the same picture also. William Bovard Bonstein I and Selena Ann Lewis were my great-grandparents. But I think William Kimble and the rest should be up here too out of respect. The work you do is very much appreciated. If I can help with anything just let me know. I am a member of ancestry, your free to check everything out on my site and if you can use anything, please help yourself.
Tanya Bonstein Johnson. [my father was William Bovard Bonstein III, my grandfather was William Bovard Bonstein II]

Sorry - I thought I sent it to the person who was listed there as the one in charge of it. I'm not sure who is. I will find out and let them know. Thanks for getting back to me.

May I use the photo of the monument that you contributed to the Find A Grave Memorial for Valentine Goodrich, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
|Geoff Oosterhoudt||re: George West's spouse(s)|
Jan - on your page for Joseph West (#75697457), you list Joseph West's and Jane Owen West's children, including George West. I am not sure where you got the info about his marriage to Betty Templeton, but William Wade Hinshaw lists the following (in his Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol. VI., p. 1012):
1791, 11, 11. George & Sarah James. Daniel James, Surety. Married by Nathaniel Shrewsberry, Nov. 20
This listing is given for Bedford County, where George had requested membership in the South River Monthly Meeting.The membership info is given in Hinshaw's Vol. VI., p. 344:
1791, 6, 18. George rq mbrp; matter deferred again & again (George requested membership)
1792, 7, 21. George recrq (George received on request)
(BTW, the dates for membership should be listed using the Quaker calendar, not our own. Thus, George requested membership 18 Aug 1791, received 21 Sep 1792.) Thanks for all of your work!
Thanks for accepting my edits.

Just checked and Tillie Hohman Condray should be lined to Henry Hohman (# 39901199} and Elizabeth Snider Hohman (# 39901183.

I believe that the Tillie Hohman Condray that you have linked to John Michael and Mary Blake Hohman is the wrong Tillie Hohman. Tilda Hohman was married to Fritz W. Stadel and they are both buried in Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan, Riley Co., KS. You can view Tilda's memorial at Find A Grave Memorial# 91332826. I went ahead and submitted an edit to link her memorial to John Michael and Mary Blake Hohman. I think the link for Tillie Hohman Condray should be removed.
Thanks for all of your work on FindaGrave.com.
|Steve Balkman||Eliphas Condray|
Hi - Your Find A Grave Memorial# 81879156 is wonderfully full of details. Thank you. Do you have a link that shows citations for the sources to the information? I would would love to have the citations if you are willing to share.
Eliphas is my 4x great grandfather. My great grandmother, whom I knew when she was in her 90's is Anna Stephanie Condreay (died in Stillwater, OK).
One issue that I'd love to figure out (maybe you can help) - Eliphas' birth date is estimated to be 1782 and his son William Matthew's is 1788. Do you have any better information on the dates as of today? One or both of the dates is not correct.
